There is a frost warning in NE tonite. I am about a week or two out from my first harvest. I have 6 plants of all varieties. My two indicas are closest and then the 2 crosses are a little farther out and the 2 sativas are a little farther even. Should I harvest tonite? What do I do?!!!????!! Is the frost going to kill them? There is also rain in the forecast for later this week and I can't imagine that is going to help considering the risk of bud rot these days.

no...no cover is possible. They are not anywhere near me. Its kind of an adventure every time I go check on them. They are also decently flushed right now too. If I leave them, they are on their own to endure the frost. If I harvest they are safe but not totally done. what would you do?

my plants have taken about 3 frosts so far. they were not consecutive days and it only frosted for a few hours at night. I would let em go and check on em in a few days to see how they held out. your biggest problem would be bud rot, so check em good for that mold.
Thanks man....I hope they do survive. I dont think it will be a deep frost

my plants handled about 4-5 frosts and were fine, i just harvested

I grow grapes and I'm also in that freeze warning area. Not sure if this applies to pot as well as grapes, but what I do is mist the plants with water. This actually protects the plant from the cell ruptures that do the killing, as it's only the outer shell of the water on the plant that freezes... Kinda like a lake freezing on the top only.
The only catch is that the plants have to have water on them as the temp hits 33 degrees. If you wet them too rarly they'll have a chance to dry out.
Try it. It'll work or it won't. The only difference is Whether YOU kill them now or Mother Nature does it tomorrow morning (if misting doesn't work)
I'll be misting my vines tonight... pisses me off. It's still 60 degrees here, that means I'll be up late wating for 34 degrees.
