Fuck a water chiller

I meant to post about the 2 free chillers i got off Amazon but figured that would be even more unethical than me getting them for free in the first place. Long story short, i bought em, wantedcto return them. They said just to take a picture of the power chord cut with the RMA number written on a piece of paper. I cut the chord of an 18 dollar jigsaw for the foto op. Refund was in the bank. Water chiller is hooked up.
I hate it. It heats the fuck out of the room, and i can only imagine how much power it uses. I am going to try ozone like they use in pools. Here is one i found for 100 bucks. Guaranteed to kill all bullshit.

If you're just trying to kill everything off in the water just run sterile. A $6 bag of Pool Shock will last you forever.
I use UC roots.
What im not sure though is if the OP realizes that a chiller also increases the amount of available o2 or DO in the water which is just as important as fighting bad bacteria and alge

I can find where i ordered it from. You can order one and tell them it leaks just like me. Then when they say to cut chord, do the same thing. It was 500 bucks. Here's the link.

Great idea man but almost sounds like bad karma. Lol. I freeze milk jugs. 3 of them at a time and add to the resivoir each night around 5pm. Lights come on at 7. Keeps the water 61degrees most the time and doesn’t cost anything

Agreed. Telling people how to scam a business because you don't know how to use the product is garbage behavior.

Going back to the original post.

The heat doesn't magically disappear. You are relocating the heat from the water to the air, so the simple solution is to relocate the chiller outside the space.

Freezing bottles of water is a good stop-gap if heat gets out of control, but it's not a great daily solution. You want to keep the water at the sweet spot, right around 68F. With bottles you cannot control the temp, it goes up slowly as the ice melts, then suddenly drops when you replace them.

Too cold of water slows plant growth, too warm and you've created a breeding ground for bacteria. And as legilizeit said above it also affects DO levels, another reason to keep it stable and at the correct temp.

Bad Karma for ME..lol

I have Bad luck..so I don't create bad karma to elevate my chances of coming out on top in any circumstance.
When I lied and said I ddin't receive a product before and I did. I lost that x 5 the next week. LOL..

But HEY...

So..This sounds Like EXCELLENT advice to securing the reservoir of contaminants. Where would you implement this device? Bluezone

Edit:
This looks complicated..lol...I'm not mechanically inclined. I was looking at a unit on Amazon...
Found a install for a Hot Tub..and..smh

Yeah but it works for me not feeds 3 times a day 20 minutes. The res insulated. Works just fine. And I think sometimes home growers over think shit. Nature doesn’t have a chiller and temps all over the place from day to day. But I do understand your take on it.
