Well, the 'wood gets that ocean breeze...no mountains to block it. Makes sense, but you KNOW it gets fucking hot there in the middle of summer. I'm not too far from you, actually.

Just thought I would mention, if anyone is interested in a portable AC make sure you get the two hose models. The one hose models are not efficient, although all portable AC's are not. A window AC is much more efficient, although I have been using my Danby portable 2 hose for a long time and it has worked great with 4 - 1000 watt HPS. The one hose models are not worth using IMHO unless you already have one, and even then I wouldn't like the fact I was cooling outside also air. If money is no object then a split AC would be most efficient, hence the best. Anyways, just thought I would mention it, just my 2 cents.

If you can the best thing to do is to build a box twice the size of the AC. Mount the AC inside it. Leaving just the face sticking out in your room. And add a fan pulling that hot air out thru a filter. And use a passive intake to the box as well. Or you can make the box larger and dump all your heat into it and make a hot room using the same idea.
