I used to be a waitress,so I always try to leave a decent tip if I eat out.People don't realize, most waitresses work for BELOW minimum wage.
A lot of people make their living on tips, and when people don't tip, its a serious "Fuck You"..... And it may come back to you!
Do you think we don't remember you?
Anyone who earns tips for a living feel free to post what you do to non tippers.

That is a completely ignorant statement. Most people, in the opinion of somebody who actually works with tipped people everyday, are college students and people with careers who need extra money and take a second job.
I should note that most people DO tip. And the people that tip well regularly get hooked up with extras, and get their food FAST! If you treat me with respect, it comes right back. If you treat me with disrespect, guess what? It will come back to you. Believe me.
My job provides a genuine service, for an honest living. Judge me all you want, Im a person working for an honest living.
EDIT: Its true that a lot of delivery people/servers are bad at their job. In some cases, i support low or not tip. What im referring to is when we do a great job, and lose money in the process.

Hey man I kno what its like to not get tipped it pisses me off. I dont make a living off it but its a part of my job right now until I become an electrician. I remember all of the people who do not tip also. They probably dont think I do, but like really, I seem to rememeber Every house that does not tip.

If i lost money every day i would. Most people tip, most days i make money, most customers get great service. The reason i started this thread was not for suggestions on a better life, it was to communicate to people who dont tip that they are remembered.the min wage for wait staff is $2.01 per hour. if your losing money at your job get a new job!
Im bringing a useful piece of information to people who otherwise would not have it. Tip or you get your food fucked with, in very creative ways. Its not just spit. And im not the only person who will do stuff like that.

In the restaurant, before the food enters the bag. The delivery people and managers are all friends at my restaurant. We know which customer is calling us by the caller ID before you even order. The managers will help us do stuff to food. If you tip well, we put your order to the front of the line.
Oh, and customers who offer smoke ups get the best service of all.

If the restaurant industry did this then the price of your food would increase by way more than a 20% tip. Just think normal restaurants employee about 20 people for their wait staff. If they all went from making $2 an hour to making $10 an hour that $8 would have to be made up somewhere.
I worked as a pizza delivery driver to get myself through college. If you call and order Pizza I had to use my own vehicle, my own gas and my own insurance to bring you your food. Driving over 100 miles each day adds up very quickly on a delivery vehicle which I had to pay for with my own money. $5.50 an hour would not be enough to pay for all my expenses without the tips. Bottom line here is if youre not willing to tip your delivery driver then take your lazy ass down to the store and pick it up yourself.
Random people dont give you money because your not a tipped enmployee. Waiters make $3 an hour or less, just enough to pay the taxes. Without tips they could not survive. If your too cheap to tip then stay home. Your tipping for the service.
I think its funny how a lot of you complain about tipping these people. Telling them to find a better job, or go to college. What are people suppose to do during High School or College? Most of the waiters and delivery drivers I know were either doing this to get through college or for extra income as a second job. A starting college salary might be good enough for a single person or a dual income household but not for a single parent with two or three kids.

I'll tip if they eserve it. i generally walk out of resteraunts wiht a "10% service charge included" in their menu etc. screw that.
the tip is because you did your job well and the customer had no beef with you as a waiter etc etc. i have to do some of the most revolting things at work for customers, much worse than spending 5 minutes taking an order and serving, but i don't get tipped
don't take me for a tw@t now though, if you are a nice guy then chances are i'd tip you as why not?

Having worked in Michelin starred restaurants in different countries I can tell you that tipping in this environment is done to impress fellow diners. In a restaurant in France a tip of 10,000 francs was nothing out of the norm. 10 francs= £1.00 back then. The biggest tippers were the city bankers.

Fuck tipping, i do a much harder job than you lot, mainly because its a SKILLED job and the pay is great and all the bonuses and all.
company car, gas paid for, healthcare, 5 weeks holiday, and ui work a 9-4 .
if you want the cash, get a propper job doing propper work and you will get a nice pay.
Stop going on like charity case's, we work hard for our money, why should we give it away to some goofball delivering my over-priced food, like thats a hard job.....#

Well many restaurants already include the tip, so the waiters services are already calculated..... why not just have everyone do that across the board? then no more worries if the customer is going to gip you.
