Fucking Clones

It happens but if they didn't perk up after three or four days I get a little worried. I've had some awful looking clones I was about to toss but the little things surprised me when they turned around though. They ended up turning into monsters.

One other thing to take note of sunbiz is your N levels just before you take the clone. Too much does tend to slow things down to a crawl. You'll need a bare minimum of 50W of lights on them as well.

is it rooted? maybe its taking to much water in now
Shall I pull it and find out?...lol...good thing I have plenty of skunk beans left.

Back in the dome she goes, not much else to do at this point.

BTW, I haven't ordered again yet...but if I did MJ gets the nod over sannie.

You'll understand when I post pics again.

Peace!

Stalks always hold, leaves droop after 72 hours or so.
That's normal droop to me, I have a dwc cloner though and I've lost some clones transplanting to soil but that's just when the soil is too dry. Go with water cloning! Go get Glass of water, phd water, and stick a cutting in, see if it works for you. If it works, make a cloner for $35. You won't regret it!

generally u dont use fans on basbies they are tender.
It has to be the medium, I had 2 die/no root production after 5 days under dome...with almost zero air movement.

When I diagnose other peoples' plant problems I simply eliminate every possibility down to 1.

The soil is too dense for clones.

Thanks to all again for your help!

ive had the same experience with trying to clone in soils. Dunno what it is. Gonna try a hydro/aero cloner next

Sounds like they just don't have the root system they need for transplant.

If you can't leave them out of the dome w/o wilting, they aren't ready for travel.

I now have 1 complaint about my cloner, went to clean the distributor tubes and left and right angles glued in place,so i had to drill access holes in each end to scrub inside with a baby nipple brush.im sure the guy that makes em would refrain from the pvc glue if asked to do so..ill just plug up the holes though, leave them there for future cleaning...And btw ohmy, that is two weeks for your method, which is sound by all means, and effective...i really like to see 3inch balls of roots hanging in my box in 7 to 10 days..gives me a week jump on things, but for the home/personal grower, you got the most cost effecient hassel free way..tried and true.

I am lazy lol, They all have roots at 7 days when i pop the dome open to give em a little food and water, just no room so I let em go another week ;-)

Two words jiffy pellets or rapid rooters...well thats 4 but if all you got is soil ...then the poster that said it takes longer than 3-5 days is correct...

I've been using oasis cubes and getting roots in 10-14...

Jiffy pellets were previously giving me roots in 7-10.

Try taking clones with bigger diameter stems that had alot to do with my problems. That and I was over watering seems they like to root when allmost completely dry in Rockwool.Good Luck be patient and keep trying.Took me a while to learn it.

I had this problem a while back with a batch. Your medium is either too wet at start(should be only 50% wet,not drenched) or your watering too often, let that soil dry more as it holds water longer than other mediums.I dont use domes just an old 3 draw wooden cabinet(without the draws) with heat mats and a fluro and use jiffys ,no spraying and i get 100% now i let the medium dry more. Could be an idea to get new rooting powder (for soft stems) every 10 batches or so.

2 things i will always do. 1). after taking clippings, cut a slit up the bottom, maybe 1/4" 2). Be sure there is second growth down the clip. cut that off, even peel it off, and be sure that is under the soil. You bet it will grow roots under the soil, where it would have grown leaf above it. I get 80-100% success.
