Full Bush VS Lollypopping

I’m running a bit of an experiment here. I have 3 plants in various stages of flower.

One is fully lollypopped, trimmed and cleaned,


second was lollypopped, but not trimmed or cleaned up before flower,


the third was allowed to go “au natural”.


Last week of flower for the Full Bush, so I decided to sample some of the lower popcorn bud, what a letdown. It might as well have been shake. So I cut off all that crap, and moved up....same thing, it was all shit. Finally, when I got within 12in of the top of the canopy, I found some smokable weed.

I’m still going to wait for the other two plants to finish before drawing any real conclusions, but for now it looks like all my girls are going to get a hard lollypop.
Any words of advice or experience would be appreciated.

I have not had that experience with potency in lower buds. My temptation with lollipopping is to get plants to fit the space. I like to grow 4 plants in a 4x4 space. Two plants left to their own would fill it. I'm trying tying plants with something like a belt (of string) to reduce their girth in final stages.

I wouldn't consider either of those to be lollipopped.

This is what I would call a lollipopped plant.

im doing the exact same experiment at the moment using 2 clones both under the exact same conditions. im only about 3 weeks into flower but so far it looks like the non lollipoped plant is going to out yield the lollipopped one. time will tell

I just harvsted a clone of the "full bush", I think I'll call it my Hash Plant, because that's all it's good for...making hash. Again, only the very top bud is worth smoking
Wouldn't you know it, the hardiest, bushiest, fastest growing plat, is crap. Tis OK though, I still have the other 2 strains, both more potent.

Anyways 2easy, good growing and have fun.

Always lollipop.. the plant is expelling energy making those lower branches and diverting precious nutrients to shitty buds that will never fill in due to light constraints.

He's right. Lollipopping results in one stem with one cola. That other thing looks like a Brazilian Bikini Wax!
