Well week 2 is over, stretching nicely and have flowers in all of my squares…but I cut the nutes down to 80%, they were burning on the edges a bit, and I’m drying flowers in another tent within the same lungroom this week, so my flower tent on the other side was running a bit cool and humid. I figured I’d kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak and put a little 400w space heater in the tent to burn off some moisture and add a little warm air into the mix, well it was a bit close to one of the 2 gush mints, and I noticed some yellowing and almost withering at the tops of that plant. Turns out by my best troubleshooting that it’s root rot, from a bacterial bloom in the media from that space heater heating up the root zone. That and this is my first run with 100% coco media, and I just underestimated the moisture that it would hold between waterings.
So the fix is, immediately took that heater out, put my larger one outside the tent at one of the intake screens, I’m oxygenating my reservoir from now on, cleaning my sprayer out more often, and I ordered some king crab beneficial bacteria to add to the recipe, excited about that.
