Just a heads up, my two rooms are big 700+ plants in 1 gallon pots. A lot of methods aren't realistic for me to combat pests.
I'm running drain to waste coco, and I've been battling fungus gnats for about two weeks now. I've sprayed with a fogger with a few alternating organic brands with different active ingredients. I'm aware it doesn't matter too much if you're not killing the eggs and larvae as well.
About two weeks ago I bought some nematodes and mixed up 3 days worth of nutes to feed. Water is kept anywhere from 62-68 degrees but mostly sits at 65 with sub pump running and chiller off. Ran through those 3 days, and always get about 10% runoff every day. After I ran the nematodes, I do the same 3 day mix, and put bti in each nute mix and have been feeding them with bti included for about 10 days now.
I'm still seeing larvae in the Coco but I didn't really think about the fact that, me using hypochlorous acid with my nute line, could harm the beneficial bacteria. I can't really find any info on the acid affecting it, so I wanted to get some input from y'all.
TLDR; would hypochlorous acid be killing any beneficial bacteria when mixed in my res before they get a chance to kill the gnat larvae?
Also, I'd like to keep running the benes, but I'm thinking of flushing a bit of h202 through my plants to destroy it all before going back. Do y'all know the correct dilution rate for h202 if I were to go that route? Hydro store has it at 30% that I can pick up.
