Fungus Gnats

Ok... so ive been searching for ages online for the best way to get rid of these and there are sooooo many different opinions on the issue that it makes it hard to choose what best to do...!!

Im growing in soil at the moment and im using a combination of gnat off, sticky traps and little cups of coffee placed in the growing area all to combat these pesky little fuckers.

The gnat off works ok... but its not 100%... i have some nilnat on order as well to try and get rid of the problem as i heard that works better than gnat off so im going to try a combination of the two of them together.

Im not keen on the sand idea as ive heard it stops oxygen from getting to the roots through the top layer of soil and then i would have to bottom feed them as well just to give them their nutrients.

I really have read loads and loads on this issue but i just want something that works - i heard that diatomaceous earth on the top of the soil works a lot better than the sand and im curious about beneficial nematodes to destroy the larvae.

They really have affected my plants in a bad way with yellowing of leaves and curling also.

Just want to know the best way to get rid of them for good!!!

best way to get rid of them: let your soil get completely dry. it kills all of em and all the eggs, then water regularly.

fungus gnats only live in damp moist earth.
