Fungus Knats

Hey all, in plant problems someone suggested useing h202 diluted to get rid of the fungus knats in my soil. has anyone here tried it?? if not what else can i try...

yup i was going to say that but that alone wont get rid f them. you need a yellow sticky tape, pad, paper anything like that. see what happens is the h202 has an unstable oxygen molecule and attaches its self to a carbon based molecule causing it to oxidize. this kills the fungus nat larve not the air born shits that will lay more larve an your back again in the same spot. using h202 also kills any benifical fugi/bacteria so if using organic fert. you can run into deff. cause you dont have anything to breakdown an supply your plant with food. but if not using organics use h202 about once a weekish at no more than the recomended 3ml i used no more than 2 but thats me paranoid.(accidently did about 5 once, mysteriously it died) but using h202 will help with root rot caused by over watering and already dead roots. it will also give roots oxygen which they love. so anyways hope this helps an have a growtastic day.

They have yellow sticky tape specifically for fungus knats there on sticks and you just put it in the soil took me 2 days to get rid of them fantasic

Best thing i've found are thoses mosquito pucks, crumble some onto top of dirt and and or add some to rez. it's a natural way to get rid of them. It's some kind of nematoad that the larvae eat, then it eats it's way out of them...die f&*^s.

Theses bastards have been my worst problem all along and since i started using the mosquito pucks they are 99% gone.

You find them with the bug repellent.

http://organiccontrol.com/beneficial-nematodes/ Nematodes eat the sub soil larvae, and about 2" of sand at the top will prevent th adults from laying eggs. Kep the plants on the dry side, and of course, sticky tape for the already emerged adults. Fungus gnats are more of a nuisance than anything, I had a MAD infestation that spread into my clone area and the clones didnt seem to suffer any ill results. They supposedly eat the tender youg roots, but I saw no problem other thn the need for a mask to keep from inhaling the prolific bastards.

Like dude said, mosquito dunks are a source of nematodes, and work wonders as well.
