FYI: Digital Power Outlet

FYI: I found this at my local Petsmart while shopping for my fishes. I never knew this existed!!! It's so cool. It's an 8 power-outlet with built-in programmable digital timers...

...now I can rid all the separate timers I have...

Nice find. But how much is it? Ive seen timer/outlets online but they are expensive.

Retail price was 29.99, but currently discounted to 24.99. I thought this was an excellent price...

That is a very good deal. Especially considering a standard crap home depot timer starts at like 12 bucks.

If the two night and two day outlets are each on independent timers that would be basicly like having 4 timers so at 25-30$ not a bad deal at all. Looks like is handles 15amps and roughly 1800w so it should handle the firing of the bulb and exhaust

I got one like that from Lowes, and ended up taking it back. It was like 19.99 I think, same design and look to it minus the colored covers. I ended up taking it back because the clock is run from a "watch" battery and didnt seem to sit in its slot very. Anyway long story short it seemed about every 10 days or so the clock would reset causing me to have to reprogram the damn thing. Also when it resets it shuts everything in the timed sockets off. You may have different luck with it, I just didnt find it very reliable.

i just built my own 30 amp light controller. i set them up to run 4 1000 watt bulbs each.
the coils in the contactor are rated at a fraction of an amp. any 5 dollar timer will switch work.

they cost about 35 bucks each.
