with the clear cups, you will get algae, but all I understand is it eats some of the nutes.. nothing more.. and there a bitch to scrub out more so then a normal rinse / cleaning

Those clear cups are covered with red bigger cups. So the Clear ones are 16oz and the bigger cups are 18oz. Covering them will stop any Algae and will also allow the roots to grow in the dark.

Update: Day 4 of 12/12

Sorry for the big delay on getting an update out but I've been really busy and have hardly had time to spend on the garden at all. Coming home late and just getting watering done has been a bitch.

The topping went well. I vegged them for two more weeks and am now finally on 3rd day of flower. To help switch them over I did a little over 24 hours of darkness. I find those helps induce flowering faster than just jumping right into 12/12.






For whatever reason I think the bottom grows better. That exhale Co2 bag should be expired but I'm pretty sure they still produce Co2 and Co2 is heavier than air so maybe that is helping out. I'm still on the fence as if the exhale Co2 bags are worth it. When I first got them they are $18 now they are a lot more. Its probably a lot cheaper to get a Co2 Tank and regulator. That being said here is the bottom.




Everything is looking really good and it is a jungle in there. I just did the first watering with Fish mix, bio-bloom, bio-heaven, and Alg A Mic Last night and that is when I took these pictures too.

Sooo much! Almost two hours of fun every 4-5 days ahahaha. I really need to work on a better watering system but either way you need to maintain the plants as well. Remove dead leaves and what not so I do all that at the same time. All the love I put into them will come out in better smoke :mrgreen:

LOL........I was kinda relieved when I only got 8 females(mexi-schwag) outta 27.....I was tired of watering'em...I couldn't handle watering 64,2hrs,I believe it!:)GL.peace

Don't think that would really work for me either. Every time I water I also rotate plants so they get equal lighting. My outside rows go into the middle and I switch the other inner rows up as well. Keep moving them around. I looked into it. But for my size space and not being able to move my light around I'll just have to stick with what I got.

With my outer cups act like a res. I water about 65-70% of a 60oz cup of water/nutes into each plant when I do a watering. While I know the roots need to breath it drys up after a day or two except the very bottom and most of the plants have roots into that now as well. I cut them back twice to help promote growing roots in the soil more. So I have to water now every 4-5 days instead of every day or every other at the longest like I was when I did party cups before without the outer cups.

If you always have plants in the same spots, you can use 1/2" PVC + drippers instead of using 1/4" vinyl "spaghetti" line.
This would work nicely when using all the same pot size (party cups), at least much better than staking 1/4" line everywhere.

Update: Day 11 of 12/12

Quick update on here. Not too much to check out. Buds are starting to form and stretch should be just about done.

Looks to be going pretty well so far. I'd really like to get about 7 grams a plant which I still think is possible.

I will need to figure out how to raise the lights up a little more as well once I know stretching is done.

Watering is still a 2 hour job. But I rotate all the plants and take off any dead leaves and I've only have to do it every 5 or 6 days so it is not too bad.

I was thinking... next time, what if you did the cups on an ebb and flow table? Would certainly solve the watering issue and you could just fill your solo cups with hydroton or perlite. Just thinking out loud... Your grow looks amazing.

Caterpillar's attacking my little girls. WTF. Don't know how a moth got in there but it must have when I was watering the other night and it laid some eggs I Guess. I opened the tent to check on them and one side lost some main tops. I was like wtf is cutting these tops off so I kept looking and found one of those little bitches. I looked some more and found another. I kept looking and only found two so hopefully I got that sorted. But those little bastards can sure eat a lot and grow quickly in just a few days. WOW.

Thatz not very cool...go and have another look in a couple of hours...dont want to take any chances huh..

I guess you can tell your strains apart by now aswell? (leave structure etc..)

Yeah I can for the most part. I haven't really paid much attention to that honestly though. Once the buds get bigger it will be clear as day. The Agent Orange stays white a lot longer than the Blue Dream does. I might try to move them into sections of just one strain type once I can tell for sure.
