It because he doesn't know what he is talking about. He is making videos that tell people what they want to hear. His videos never go into any detail, he PHs his water. How? He never details of explains the specification of the lights he uses. He never runs into major problems. He gets minor ones that can be attributed to him, never the product, then fixes them with the products.

His videos are "infomercials", they inform us over and over about the products he is selling and to provide "dank eyecandy" to the idiots that send him money via his Patreon account. "Yes Mister Canuck, I am going to send you money every month so you can sell me over priced nutrients."

In this video he drops the name of at least six different companies and provides affiliate links for all of them. He is high profile and that video alone has 465,000 views, if he gets just a 0.5% views to purchase rate on his links that is 2300 sales a video, plus the people that just give him money on Patreon, plus his channel merch sales and whatever deal he has with Gaia Green.


He is simply a video maker and sales man. He is the Youtube equivalent of that stoned guy in the grow shop that claims to know everything. Watch that video, he ran into the problem of not having an 100% germination. He then suggested that it was because he didn't use fresh medium, but never fear because Gaia Green is here with bags of fresh coco, EWC, Perlite and all purpose 4-4-4 to save the day. This is utter salesmanship and bullshit. Coco is completely inert, if it was wet enough they would have germinated. I germinate in wet paper towels, which is completely inert, yet I get an 100% germination rate.

The guy is a chancer.

Are you sure mate?? I guess you are the expert making manifold ?? But I followed the Dr. Coco's Cannabis MainLine Training Tutorial

“Once you have eight main branches, the manifold structure is complete. The plants are usually about four to six weeks old and entering the late vegetation stage.”

I’m in week 7 now (200 watts led) and will do my last topping today, then I have eight main branches. So I think I’m not that far out! Considering I’m NOT growing synthetic in coco and it’s my first grow ever!

Also height does not say shit, I prefer small height, grow horizontally with small internodes and fat stems.

And look at my pots mate, they are huge! So a lot of energy goes in developing the root system.

But I’m a noob, that’s how I think!

But you can activate the coco (make it a living substrate) by adding bacteria, fungi and feed them organic fertilizer. Then the bacteria will feed your plants?? If this is not the case?? How is it possible that my plants are growing big, bigger and biggest??

I use 50/50 Coco Perlite as substrate!

So this is your first grow and you are lecturing more experienced growers on why you believe they are wrong when they offer constructive criticism?

I haven't said you can't do any of that. I was merely stating that Mr. Canuck is a grow gear salesman and explaining why I think that.

I’m sorry , I just get a little angry when someone bad mouth my ladies. That said I’m not using any products on that YouTube channel, but I like his video’s.. they are entertaining with nice products, equipment and flowers but lacking information!

Lol, if you follow the tutorial mainline for coco, grow with synthetic's, 4 weeks is the best! That’s whats has upset me !

Nope, genuinely don't know the guy. I have never commented on whether organics and coco work together or expressed any opinion on you or your plants.

TBH I'd rather not use coco, for other reasons, but with UK legislation banning peat sales I am probably going to have to use a coco based mix at some point, unless I can find an alternative.

I would think if you had good quality compost or ewc coco should work well. Adding the right amount of ca mag would be the trick I guess. Keeping the micro alive and well would be all that’s needed.
