hi everybody,,,for outdoor growers birdwatching is very fun passtime when out in the field for the day, i just carry my field identification book and try to find the name of the bird im looking at at that particular time,, i was interested in knowing what birds hang arround your garden during summertime,, i would love to hear from anyone regarding birds and pot those are my two passions,, they both go hand in hand cause when you smoke you fly .... lol ( i know,, its a lousy pun):dunce:,,,, but anyways if theres anybody thats interested in keeping track of theyr bird activity i encourage you to document any bird sightings in this thread,, thanks and happy growing/birding:-P:leaf::bigjoint:

Get a fair few birds round my joint but i dont have a good enough camera to capure them,these r wat ive noticed so far;
Little wattle birds-(nesting in the Commelias)
Noisy minors
Kookaburras
Magpies
Rainbow lorikeets
Eastern rosellas
Figbird
Cuckoo shrike(sittin on eggs atm)
White-faced grey heron (after rain)
Magpie-larks (Peewee)
Sulphur-crested cockatoos
Crested pigeon
Quick visit from a female Satin bowerbird

Think that about does it,ive always got my field guide with me too,dunno if uve seen many of the birds they're mostly Australian natives.

no.. i am not familiar with these birds but i will definetly go check them out on yahoo or something,,,
thanks for sharing,,,, i think every nature lover should have field guides for
birds mamals fish plants and trees,,,,

That Cuckoo Shrike i mentioned was nesting had its nest blown down in a storm the other day.

I found this little fella on the ground and have been bringing him in of a night to protect against the feral cats around.
Im hoping his parents keep coming to feed him till he's strong enough to fly.

WOW ,,, awesome bird man,,,, i hope he gets to be free,, i love the shrikes,,, we have a similar one here and its called " northern shrike" and " logger head shrike " it is the only singing predator arround north america,, it is very seldom to hear its song,, it is not equiped with the legs to carry or hold prey so he will often find hawthorn or sharp branches, to impale the captive and consume it:spew:lol pretty cool hugh??:-o
