Garden questions

Hey guys I finally got out of my apartment and got a house a couple weeks back. So I decided to plant my own garden. I know it's later in the year but I still planted some things. I have some pumpkins, cucumbers, zucchini, sunflowers, and peppers going. They are like a week old, so I was wondering if I can water them multiple times during the day. It has been 105 here lately so they dry out quite fast. Also should I have pumpkins by Halloween or do they take longer?

pumpkins may take a bit. peppers won't really produce many peppers due to the heat, although mine are doing ok. I have some serranos going. Everything else sounds good. I'm doing lots of the same things out here in the desert! depending on how fast your soil is drying out, it may be ok to give them a bit of water maybe twice a day. We have several small seedlings in our raised beds at my nursery and we hit 'em twice a day. Everything is looking great. Good luck and congrats on your new house!!

Becareful not to over water them especially if there so young but depending on the size of container and soil mix you may need to water multiple times or once a day. Right now for me it's been a steady in the upper 80's and sunny. All of my containers need watered every evening and my garden only needs it every other day. GL

where are you at with your pumpkins? have they started to flower or even produce litttle fruit yet?

Thanks for the replies. And no they are little little seedlings. They should grow quick, considering my yard gets no shade. Is 3 months long enough for pumpkins?

my zuchini has real rich well drained soil. and through the heat i did water them twicw a day. as long as the water grains you'll be right as rain. if the water stands you'll rot your veggies. i never gre zuchinis before and i'm amazed at how big and ahow fast they got that big. i'll get some pix today
