Peat mixes are good. Real good. I grew in them exclusively for.a very long time. I used to buy pallets of Promix and Sunshine #4 mix. I switched to coco coir a long while ago. Got over the slight learning curve (its nothing like peat really...more like rockwool....kinda). For me it blows past peat and then some. Roots especially new transplant roots just take rite off. Plus i could never hammer peat with fertigation like i can with coco coir. And it breaks down and gets acidic if you veg a long time. Its not suggested to reuse either Theres no question for me. Coco coir is light years ahead of peat.

I just personally opted out of the gavitas for my new setup. my new basement has 9' ceilings and i feel like I may have made a poor choice with the conventional single ended bulb. It was either 20 air cooled blockbusters or like 12 gavitas. The initial cost for the gear would have been the same. Now im just waiting on the city to add another 200 amp main and im in biznass!

I too, love the coco.... (shrug)
