Gavita pro 1700e

I've been hearing nothing but good things about the gavita and was wondering who uses them and how good do you think it is. Gavita might be my new route as far as led goes but I dont wanna spend thousands on them if they aren't worth it

I used one for a run until 3 bars of light went out… probably just bad luck if the rest are positive reviews.

They give off an insane amount of light. Almost too much in my 4x4 tent. Have to buy the controllers for dimming which are quite expensive

I have 2 gavita pro 1700e's in a 4x8 tent, you will need the controller. And that sometimes wont be enough. Even at 50% (which is the lowest it will go) still wasn't low enough for some young plants. I had to put a sheet of plastic between the light and plants for a week or so until they could take it. Other times the the young plants could take the light at 50%. I think the gavita is an awesome light but when i buy another led it will be an hlg, some of those you can dial back to 10%. And you don't have to buy a $250 controller.

i use a 600 respect 600watt hlg and am very pleased, I was think about upgrading to the scorpion but I hear gavita is better

I'm still new to led's, those gavitas are the only led's I've ever used, but they are killing it vs the 600 watt hid.

My last two grow lights were HLG and they always deliver. I'm using the HLG Scorpion Diablo right now. It lets you dial down enough for new plants and blasts them when they're ready! lol I have it set to 40% right now on my current grow. About 22 inches away from the tops. Plants are 6 weeks old.

Had a fan catch fire like 3 weeks ago and it melted all over the light and it still works perfectly. It melted on the heat sink only. Don't trust vivosun fans.

Is the scorpion worth the buy?

With a 3rd party light controller like Trolmaster you can turn the 1700e down to 35% power. Works fine for rooted clones. If you supplement co2 you can use full power at about week 3 or 4 of flower. I love my gavitas, though they were given to me for free for helping a buddy, can't really say whether I would buy them on my own accord.
