Geminid meteor shower set to peak tonight

wondered why I saw 3 this am in the matter of minutes I was outside..

The annual Geminid meteor shower is due to attain its zenith during the night of December 13 and into the small hours of December 14. According to NASA, at the showers peak around 4:00 a.m. local time, skygazers can expect to see upwards of 100 to 120 meteors every hour after the waxing gibbous moon sets. The spectacle should last until dawn.
The Geminids are the most prolific shower of the year and are visible around the world. This year, they will last from December 12 through 16, though the night of the 13th and 14th will be the best time to see them. Unlike most meteor showers, which originate in the tails of comets, the Geminids are blasted off of the asteroid 3200 Phaethon. However, the amount of debris shed by 3200 Phaethon is insufficient to account for the Geminids.

That's an interesting find.
I noticed earlier, that at 11 PM here, it was actually brighter/ easier to see outside than it was at 8 PM when I had gone outside.
IDK if it's related, but it makes sense.

up at outside this am at "peak time" saw nothing but stars.. yesterday just looked up for a few mins saw 3.. damn space hype!

You think that was not what I was imaging while I was outside pumping down to a plumbing break. I even had to leave my pick axe and shovel outside figuring this morning I'd finish the job when I could shovel out the solid water. Mother nature had other plans, she didn't hard freeze, so now it's wait with only 1/2 of the water on in the house.

Have a LOT of fun for me. I need it

I want to go to the bbq and tell everyone I'm someone else. I don't think I would divulge myself. Though photographic evidence exists I think most are too stoned to put it together and I change my appearance often enough. :bigjoint:

yeah I was tempted to do this too.. kinda just hang out and shoot pics and make people get all paranoid.. :O

maybe even say I was Kinetic

I took a dab so huge last night I didn't stop coughing for 30 minutes ( I have a cold) so I went outside during the cough attack and immediately saw a falling star, pretty cool. I wished I wouldn't die from a stroke, from coughing so much. I woke up this morning so it worked.

face .. yes meteor shower was a let down.. as most are ..
