I'm about complete with the Springs; i've been here since day 1 in my life

It's changed. It's not the city for me or my better half anymore.

Eventually as stated, we're heading out west or north.

I'm reeally fond of Colorado's mountains, high grasslands, and deserts just not the inevitable urbanization of front range cities

I would travel south however the climate changes not to my liking. Alamosa however, I have heard good about and the college scene

Go Thunderwolves! Pueblo, it takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, it's a great place to live. I'd suggest getting off campus as much as possible, and exploring the city as much as possible too. Between the Riverwalk and some of the seedy spots down by the steel mill, you can get a taste of everything (but a bustling metropolis). And, the prairie right behind the university...many a good times were had out there! Sometimes, we'd just getting really stoned and go for a walk, other times, we'd start a giant bonfire in a ravine and trip our balls off, but there was always a good time to be had in the prairie!

Down side is that, if you live on campus, the tarantulas and scorpions migrate right through there.

Pueblo is pretty cool I suppose, just- be careful on certain areas.

Dispensaries are cool here, I can't say much outside the Springs

Snow varies by area, and I mean GREATLY varies. It can be snowing on the hill but drizzling at the bottom while sunny skies fucking rage

There were none when I was there, and (from what I understand) there still aren't any in Pueblo itself. The city council voted to keep them out before there were any, if memory serves. But, there was never a shortage of herb. If you ever get dry, take a spin through the dog patch and you'll find something.

As for the weather, that's one of the things I liked most about Pueblo: the winter's milder than up north (from the Springs, up). Though it does get pretty hot in the summer. I remember topping 100 degrees for stretches at a time, and the only relief to be had was taking as cold of a shower as possible a few times a day. It would even get so hot, I'd wet my cat and she'd love it. But, that's not to say there's not snow. It can still hit, pretty well too, though less frequently and usually less intense than other parts of the state got.

Colorado really s a special place to live. Not only do we have the absolute weirdest weather, now we have a place where MJ is legal (within limits). Be cool when you get here, Pueblo is different than the Springs or Denver. Look for beauty and you will find it.

Not sure about the dispensaries in Pueblo, but up the road in Colorado Springs you can find what you are looking for. Regarding open carry, no, generally a bad idea in town, but when you are in the back country quite a few people wear a holster. But to avoid a 'situation' it is a good idea to get a conceal carry permit and keep it out of sight. There is a problem with having a firearm in your posession at the same time as MJ. I spoke with 2 lawyers about this and they both advised to not have any firearms either in your residence or on your person when there is MJ present. When you purchase a firearm you have to answer a question about drug use and if you answer yes you cannot purchase the gun. If you lie on the form you can be put in jail. The medical license (red card) database is supposed to be confidential, but it is not hard to imagine that it could be cross checked with the gun purchase and concealed carry permit databases, which could be very bad news for those folks who are armed and use MJ. Both are legal, just not together. There is quite a lot of argument on this, but keep in mind that what matters is what the cop thinks when you have an interaction, so step 1 is to not have an interaction. Open carry invites that interaction. You might be able to defend your open carry while in possession of your legal ounce in court, but it would be better to not go down that path. Besides, there are few places where a sidearm is appropriate. I'd leave it in the safe, but even that could be a problem if you decide to toke up a bowl in the comfort of your living room. If you feel the need to carry a gun then you should consider changing where you go.:peace:

^ That's a great post 420.

And you are right on the money regarding the firearms and mmj.

It's so sketchy either way. Silly ass shit.
Supposedly we voted to legalize mj for a medicinal purpose. That being said, those rights SHOULD be private info, and SHOULD fall under the nations HIPPA laws.
Unfortunately, mj is still a schedule I narcotic, so for this silly reason our privacy in usage of mmj for medical purposes become public once you've registered.(obtained your red card)
