General Organics in Hydro?

I recieved this sample package from GH today and was wondering if they would work in hydro aswell, the feeding schedule is for soil/soiless.

Also anyone using these nutrients?
Do you like them? and what results are you getting using?

Any input is appreaciated

Thanks for the input but I found my answer, and they would not work for hydro being as they are made from raw materials and may ferment and foam up after some time.

you could get one of those mesh bags that are supposed to be filled with coarse coco and put into a resevoir, allowing bacteria to colonize it. that way you could have beneficial bacteria keeping it unfermented/foamy, etc.

That sounds tricky/risky and easy to misuse, but if pulled off would be really cool

How would that work with DWC?
I'm thinking it would clog my airstones.
That sounds like a cool idea though I wonder if it's possible.

Sorry I didn't mention I was going to be running a DWC system.

it wouldn't work in DWC either because of the necessity for microbes and inoculated mycorrizhae and trichoderma in order to break down the complex organisms which organic feeds are composed of

Sounds good General organics for my potted plants, And Fox Farm for my DWC plants. Thanks for the input fellas.

btw, the bags are highly tested and sold at hydro shops. i have friends that go bio-hydro, even soil-hydro ebb/flow. that dude uses beni bacteria like a mofo... look into it, its pretty cool shit.

I just started running Organicare line in DWC, and so far, so good. I'm a having a deficency where rust spots are forming on the ends of the older leaves, and some yellowing/lime color on the upper leaves. I really hope to use organics in hydro, b/c I plan on moving to a ebb/flo table soon.

I just started using a HydroLogic Small Boy. It doesn't do shit for the pH, but it does eliminate the chlorine, and reduces the tap PPM a little. My tap is not too hard, but the pH is REALLY high (~8.5)

Also, I use the powered MicroBacteria, and just add some with every other res. change. I've been using with with chemicals, before my organic switch. Seems to work ok.

Nice, I would like to buy an RO but a little too pricey for me at the moment.
I'm just going to buy 2 5 gal jugs and fill them up at the water store they have a full RO system running so the TDS should read at 000 plus no chlorine.

UPDATE: I think I've figured out my plant probs: pH. I've having a hell of a time get the pH right on this DWC organics. The plant I'm testing this on is probably not going to make it, but I really want to make this work. I tired pH-ing the water BEFORE I added nutes, and have tried again AFTER I change the res and add new nutes (and flushing), and it's still going way up to 8-8.5. I'm also using "natural pH Down" from Earth Juice.

I guess I have to scour RIU for more information.

The Good News: Hydro-Organics DOES work, specifically with a EBB/FLO table, and an interesting feeding schedule.
The Bad News: I do not think Hydro-Organics will work with DWC. It might be possible, but you would have to feed them drain-to-waste, and then bubble them in plain ol' pHed water. I will try this fix with current "experiment" and get back to you.

I know this I super old but anyone trying to breed bennies in hydro needs to use a centrifugal pump, and not an impeller pump, as to not chop up and kill the microbes you're trying to breed.

Organic really doesnt work for dwc when i switched to hydro believe me i tried it got algae and stuff its bad. I don't recommend it but u should b good with ebb and flow. I talk shit about chemical ferts in soil all the time but if u stick with dwc i use gh flora series. Really easy and not too bad on your wallet. Plus surprisingly i wasnt upset with the taste of the finished product. since your medium is the water not the soil it doesnt leave salts in the plant. Just flush with plain ph water the last couple days. On the other hand nothing compares to perfectly grown organic soil buds so do what u like.
