I was following the GO soil feeding chart, using the heavy feeding type and was feeding the plant every water.

I decided to do a feed, feed, water schedule and my plant has started to show signs of deficiency.

My question is this, can someone with GO experience please tell me if it's ok to use nutes every feeding?

Can a plant in soil become accustomed to continual feeding and require it from that point on?

I'm farily new with the GO line, but am currently feeding with every watering. Just leach the salts (if any) from the soil every couple weeks, you should be fine, my plants seem to dig it :)

I use the GO with Happy Frog potting mix in #3 smart pots for part of my garden at every feeding. The only time I use heavy feeding is with grow -4 tsp per gallon during the first 30 days 12/12 to avert most leaf drops that would've normally occurred under the normal GO schedule/mix during transition.

The thing is with my method is that the HF mix that its planted during middle of veg is basically out of gas in the #3 by first weed of flowering and after 30 days I go light with grow -1 tsp grow + tsp bloom for the rest of their duration. I hope that makes since I had the full spectrum of the pantry this morning.

good comments on the organic nutes. we need to remember though that truely organic is chemical free. This, however, only means that it is healthier. True organic supplements are pricy but chemical free, but they are much better that no nutes at all. That does not mean organic pot is necessarily "better" than weed raised on chemical nutes. Usually the opposite is true. It is however, better for your health.
Also the symptoms you described: running out of gas to soon. This, in all honestly is a symptom of true organic growing. That's why my advice is to be careful with doses, but yes, feed organic supplements more frequently than chemicals. Unless they are very sensitive strains they can usually take it. peace, be kind.

I used the Feed.. Water... Feed....Water approach and noticed Cal/Mag Def 4 weeks into flowering. I read another post about General Organics with deficiency problems......... during 12/12 transition he would overlap the feeding schedules for Veg / Flower for the first two weeks. So he does the 10ml Grow/10ml Bloom per gallon combo during the first two weeks of 12/12 then reverts back to regular schedule.

I am wondering about the CalMag+ also. General Organics recommends using tap water and not PH adjusting. This means their formula may take into consideration that the tap water already has Cal/mag and maybe it is weak. I dont know really. I can say that I have a purple widow that just loves the GO nutes and 6 weeks into flowering she is just gorgeous without any issues. Dark green leaves and huge colas! I fed it the same as my Peace Makers, but the PM's showed the Cal/Mag def, not the Purple Widow.

I think it is ok to feed every watering as it seems really hard to burn. I now add Cal/mag to every watering at the regular feeding schedule. You did not state your deficiency, was it Cal /Mag like true punk and myself?

Yea it was, but all signs of deficiencies disappeared when I feed every three days with the full line of GO flowering ferts and there's no signs of nuking

Glad to hear it. I did some more research, and reading up on the whole PH deal and here is the General Hydroponics Blog with the staff answering questions specifically about this line.

would like to know thoughts on using chemical pH adjusters with the GO lineup. It seems to me that it would be counterproductive. I recieved my free samples of GO but I don’t want to use it until I’m sure on pH. I grow in soil, and when all ingredients are mixed together, the pH of the solution is around 5.3, I would like my mix to be around 6.5, but don’t want to use chems, and hurt the microbial life. Any suggestions? Or will GO be putting out organic pH adjusters?

Are you growing in soil, or hydro? In a healthy soil, the pH is being regulated by the plant in the root zone. Don’t worry about manipulating the pH and do not use chemical pH Up or Down products with your General Organics solution. Let us know how your garden is doing!

So, My water pH out of the tap is 7.5ish and when I add the Biothrive bloom, Bioweed, and Biobud the pH drops to about 4.5ish. Now their saying to add a mixture that acidic to the Coco coir without pH adjusting? But when I called GH today the woman I talked to said to adjust my waters pH before I added the Nutes. So I did. Adjusted to 6.0, and added the nutes, and it dropped to 4ish. Now can someone explain to me why I should go pour that into my plants that I love without adjusting pH up??? would that not just wreak havoc on them? I would like to know the hows, and whys. I’m not prone to jump off a cliff just because other people are. I would like a real reason. not just that ‘you just should” answer.
Thanx in advance for anyone who can help with this. I’d really like to use this line, but if I cant find any factual info on pH adjustment with this product I’ll unfortunatly drop the line for something else.
Thanx

When using the GO line, pH adjustment is not necessary in a biologically active soil or soilless medium. When using Coco, it’s not a bad idea to inoculate with our SubCultures M & B to bolster microbial populations. The biological activity which comes from microbial life within the medium, consumes the food provided by the GO line of products. Once the microbial digestion occurs, exudates from the fungi and bacteria are ingested by the plant in the form of food.

This is different than feeding with traditional hydroponic nutrients, such as our Flora Series. When gardening with mineral based nutrition, pH is the basis for nutrient uptake. This is because the nutrients are ionically charged, and the proper pH is necessary for root absorption of the food. This is also why nutrient strength monitoring (EC/PPM/TDS) is a good idea when using a mineral based nutrient, whether in soil, soilless, or hydroponics.

With your Coco medium, be sure to use the CaMg+. You can safely feed at 2X label recommendations for all products in the GO line, except for the BioWeed and BioBud. They are enhancement products, so be sure to follow label recommendations.

Happy Growing!

I am using the GO line and everytime i mix my nutes the ph comes out to 3.5. Everyone says i dont need ph up with these nutes. Could someone PLEASE tell me why I should pour this acidic solution on my roots without adding ph up? It says the ph will rise on its own but, my roots will be exposed to the acidic solution while its waiting for the ph to rise. Again this is the second time i am posting this question, lets see if it gets deleted

Hello,
You can bring it up a little bit if it would make you feel better, but it really is not necessary. As soon as the microbes start to digest the ingredients in the nutrient, the ph changes. The plant and the biology in the soil create and maintain an ideal ph. From all of the tests we have done and all of the beta testers outside of GH the plants grow better when you leave the ph alone. You must be using RO or distilled water for the ph to be that low. How do your plants look? Are they healthy?

When using the GO box should I be watering (just water, no nutes) between every feeding?

Thanks for the question. We recommend feeding at every other watering.
Hope this helps out the next person searching. :peace:

Hahaha. Try about an oz of molasses in the water every three feedings or so. The sugars feed ur microbes and keep them happy.

i used RO water with soil and the girls were getting yellow by week two of flowering, and only got worse. definetly got fucked using this product line. back to AN for blooming

I've heard they suggest using tap water instead of ro as they may account for the cal/mag in the tap water

This is so confusing. I thought the Chloramine/Chorline (You can't evaporate Chorlamine which my town uses) would immediately kill everything in the soil?

you can get organic cal mag, i use gen organics, and ive seen a little bit of controversy over the legitimacy of their organic claims. so im not sure how good of a suggestion that is, but its only needed once in a while.

Chlorine will hurt the microherd, but I doubt they are completely eliminated on contact... I mix in a bubbling bucket that has been out of the tap for about an hour, with periodic GWS applications and my girls are getting all the nutes they need at recommended dosages with the GO line. The only thing I can think of for the blooming schedule with RO is to double up on cal-mag... Also with fast draining mediums I feed 3 times before leaching the medium with tap water and my girls have been pretty stoked as of late.

They don't claim to be OMRI or anything, despite the fact that the product name is General Organics.
