Theres not much discussion here about General Hydroponic's new organic line, so I want to start a thread talking about these nutrients. Anybody is welcome to join and add anything about their experience using General Organics or compare to other brand of Organic nutrients.

For those with experience using this line or people that are currently using them please add 2this thread, I'm sure people would like to hear more about this newer line of organics :leaf:

Finally! I am actually using the "GO" line for the first time. I have had some PH issues resulting in lock out (my fault of course), but from what I can tell now the plants are getting everything they need. You can check out my grow in my sig to see how everything is panning out with these nutes so far.

Looking good, are you feeding every watering? or every other?

Why thank you. Had a rough start, but things seem to be coming together now.

Since I have started feeding with the GO line it has pretty much been every week. Unfortunately the soil I have isnt draining as well as it should. So it takes about a week between watering. Which is the only reason I am feeding with every water. I don't like doing it, but plants are showing slgiht deficiencies while PH is (now) good...so they actually do need it.

I went 1/4 strength the last feeding...they took it fine and still had slight def's showing. So I upped it to 1/2 yesterday. We'll see what happens.

i am thinking of us the new GO line in roots organic soil. i was going to just get the thrive and bloom will this do or will i need the whole line to avoid deficiencies? also whats your feeding schedule. are you following the exact one on the site? how many teaspoons of what are you using per gallon?

Hey durbanmistyman, I'm following the exact feed schedule that's in their website. You don't need the whole line but I would suggest you also get the CaMg+ it helps provide your plants with calcium and magnesium which alot of other nutrients don't come with.

At least a month if you are in soil that already has nutes. I am battling dialing my nutes in still. I got some pretty bad burn this time. I think its due to my soil though, its pretty hot stuff I think....not used to soil. I used to grow in CoCo medium, will be switching back for sure next go around.

I mixed a solution for week 1 of flowering and noticed the PH was VERY low and had to add a huge amount of PH UP in the solution to bring it to 6.7 (which I use).

I am ALSO using it in The Roots Organics soil.

I had to mix over 10ml per gallon (40 gallons) which is WAYY too much if you ask me.

Have you guys had a similar experience? I am using RO water.

I called gen hydro and explained this to them, and they said the new line was designed to be used with tap water. Are they serious?? that's a joke if you ask me.

The feeding schedule says at the bottom that PH adjustment is not necessary. I asked them to clarify and they told me that the nutes WONT affect the PH of the SOIL. NOT the SOLUTION.

I have a friend who has been leaving the solution PH at 5.5 and has had no problems up to week 5.

have you guys had the same issue?

I also use RO water and I adjust the PH before adding the nutes, It does say PH adjustment not necessary but I don't know. As for them saying it was designed to be used with tap water that is a bunch of BS because it clearly say use with non chlorine water tap has chlorine in it what's up with that?

It wasn't that low I use 4 drops of up it's usually around 6.5 all the time.
Do you guys PH balance after you mix the nutrients?

my solution before adding any PH up was 4.9. thats nuts. not sure why i followed the chart and the ladies look lovely, have you used diamond black?

damn that's pretty low, so you adjust the PH then add nutes?

Not yet i'm going to wait a couple of more weeks till I use it, have you used bio marine? I bet that stuff works great

Typically, you are suppose to mix the nutes first then adjust the ph. Most nutes will buffer to some sort of level by itself... so if you adjust the ph first...the nutes will most likely change it and you will need to adjust it again.

Yep. If I take R/O water (6.9 pH) and add the nutes it drops to about 4.9 or lower (cant remember right now). So I am balancing pH after I add nutes.

if you bubble the solution it shoud raise the ph some without having to add ph up. ph up kill beneficial bacteria.

I dont see how bubbling the solution will affect the PH of anything. Water left out after 24 hours will allow chlorine to evaporate, maybe thats why your PH may change.....

statik,
with your ph that low do you find that you are adding tons of PH up? my friend has been leaving the PH at 5-5.5 and had no problems but im skeptical to do that......

im going to feed again in a few days and try what the rep told me. i'll post afterwards......

wrong we are talking about organics its all about the microorganisms, bubbling will effect the ph the first 24 hours. he is using an organic nute that has endo and ectobacteria in it. bubbling the water incourages bacteria grow. therefore changing your fungi to bacteria ratio the more bacteria the more alkaline the solution the more fungi the more acidic.

I too am looking at drip systems for my next grow. I have found that it is a big no no to keep the drip to close to plant stems. The further back, besides rotting the stem the more the roots hunt. I can not tell you more about coco. I know only the hydro side right now. I guess water until your pots get heavy and their is some runoff like all coco suggests. Then stop until they get lighter? gl/.

I beleive it is bacteria that really loves the sugar. So the more sugar the more bacteria also I think bacteria and fungi popualtions have to do with time bubbled. I forget which is which but during one time, when there is less bubbles there is more fungi. Probably longer I think.
