Germed Fine, Issues with Sprouting, Please Help?

So I'm not really a noob to growing but feel like one, a bit of background info, have done four grows indoors in the past all succesful no issues with sprouts.

This time round I used the same germ method (paper towel - always had 100% success doing this even this time)

After tap root shows a little i carefully put them root tip facing downwards 1 or 2 cm under the soil and cover with little loose soil, had 100% success doing this with my previous grows aswell.

heres the prob for some reason this time round out of 12 germed seeds only one had sprouted. the others simply do not come above the surface even after 10-14 days at which point i dig the seed out and its in the same condition as when i put it there ie root has not grown anymore at all.

I feel as though i am doing everything right, have tried different soil mixes to no avail, temps are nice and warm 25-27c, i even bought a heated propgater to make sure but still they dont sprout.

What am i doing wrong? I am doing exactly the same as i did last four grown nothing is diff, i ph check the soil before using it water it down nicely before let it dry a bit then wet it slightly for the seed, damp not too wet. i spray mist if it gets dry. using bottled drinking water ph of 7.

Please can someone help me out i have just wasted $100 on these dead seeds only have 4 left and want to make sure they actually sprout.

Should i try to forget the paper towel method and jus drop the seeds in the soil? should i try putting the them in with tap root facing upwards as some do?

I just thought il use the same methods that have worked for me time and time again but for some reason it isn't happening this time round.

Will be very greatful for any views and help as i am relying on these seeds for my personal smoke, i have no access to bud where i am only hash so this is my only way to get me some dank.

Many thanks

I don't know much as I am a new grower, but it sounds to me those were just some bad seeds. Everything else your doing seems fine.

if its worked in the past, its strange it didnt work this time.maybe their was something wrong with the seeds,or maybe you should have waited for the tap roots to get a little longer.
very strange because it sounds like you did everything right.

....I personally just put the seeds into moist soil with a heating pad under them...the less fertilizers in the soil the better, try promix or rapid rooters.......keep moist, keep dark, keep warm....in 3-5 days they should be ready for light.

hey,
can i ask what the seeds are? or from ?
as you say I cant really see an issue. maybe cover the top of your pots with clingflim to increase humdity and heat untill they sprout.
what sort of soil temp are you at? I keep my big cfl close to the pots, not sure what the temp is but the plastic 7inch pots are slighty warm to the touch.
hope you findout.
take it easy.

Hi sure the seeds are from attitude seedbank, all various strains mostly autoflower, couple of green o matics, few diesel ryders, afghan kush ryder, himalayan diesel. Funny thing is the one that actually sprouted was the freebie from attitude - ufo smile seed fem.

Temps are around 27c, plastic pots are warm to the touch, soil is not cold but i would say slightly luke warm to the touch.

Im now thinking maybe I should increase a few more c's? maybe 30c?

Also tried putting cling film over pots and it deff did what it was meant to (humidity- little water on cling film top) but did not sprout still.

Am I right in watering the soil down a day or two before droping seedling in? should i skip this part and just wet a little b4 putting seed in?

I think my next step for my next seed is to let the tap root get to around an inch? maybe I am dropping them into pots too early when the tap root is too small? Im pretty sure it shouldnt make any diff but hey worth a shot.

Really confused over this, almost at a point where I am scared to germ my last 4 seeds because thats all I have left, I want to make sure everything is 100% perfect before I germ anymore cant afford any more non sprouts.

Ok so another twist to the tale, now both the freebie ufo seeds have sprouted.

All the others were pick n mix so taken out of breeder packs, i can only imagine they were handled and stored in the freezing cold in the uk for a while whereas the freebie stock changes monthly so its more likely to be fresh???

Maybe that is one big ass wrong assumption i dunno :?:

im having the same problem right now with my super lemon haze ... 2 out of the 5 sprouted and there all exact same conditions at all times
