Start too early? Like before you were having all your needs?

The root will get too long and the thing will loose nutrition and die!

Get a dixie cup or a solo cup and dig some dirt out of the ground.
Put it in the cup (say maybe a cpl of inch's of inch's worth) and stick the seedling in "pointy tip" down like and 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep NO MORE.
Water it lightly.....That way when you have what you need - it will still be alive....BE VARY CAREFUL AND GENTLE WHEN YOU MOVE IT to the new home in 4 days

spray with water and store in your fridge until required

best wrapped in a damp kitchen and in a damp plastic bag

good luck

Yeah, ah that's time to get it in some soil or loose it soon.

If you put it in the fridge for 4 days the tap root will get too long and the plant (IF the seed lives) will be stunted and stressed way out for way too long - IF it survives!

Trust me on this one. Ignore the jabs at you or it'll get worse AND get that plant in some dirt and water it...

do it really need to be in a cold place ?

Thank you for the reply :)
The deal is most fridges are cold down to 5c/40F..and just like with clones germed seeds

can be safely stored in any fridge damp at 5c40?f for up to 2 weeks, easy

I have done a month but did loose some clones

Yeah that works (to a point) V but, he's new and lets get him in soil and going before he attempts to battle "less then optimal" seedlings!

;)

If you end up having some super-long seedlings, just cut the top half off a water bottle and prop the stem upright through the ... the friggin... the drinky part.

And don't be afraid to germinate directly in soil next time. I never understood all the funky germ methods out there. I'm all like "wtf would happen to seeds in the wild?"
