HELP!?!

Hey everyone, need some advice or some tips.. if you could find it in your heart to help me.. I sure would appreciate the help. :)

Anyhow, I am germinating a few seeds right now. I'm using the towel method. Cloth towel dampened, put my seed into the folded towel.. then folded the towel two more times.

That so far is going alright I think.. the seeds are starting to turn a darker color.. which in my experience.. tells me that my germination is working. K that's cool too..

However, I'm having problems keeping my soil temps at a warm enough temp.. during the night time. Night time temps are the cause.

Anyone have any ideas.. I thought about putting a heating pad under the pot... but those things shut off after a certain amount of minutes.

I even cut one of my heavy winter socks... I cut it right in half. Then put one of the cut ends.. around the pot to try and keep it a little warmer over night.. but I don't think it's sufficient enough.. to keep the soil warm enough for my seedling.. once my seedling sprouts her tap-root.... you know I need to be ready to transfer her from germination towel, directly over to the soil.

But.. I don't want to put the seed (once tap-root sprouts) into a medium.. that's going to get too cold at night.. and wind up killing the seedling.

Pleaaassee. Any advice.... :)

I have been trying to search up on it.. but with very little luck so far.

Anyhow, thanks goes out to everyone in advance. Thanks!

Peace.

I use paper towels..they work well..i take a small plate, and place a wet paper towel on it..soak the paper towel then squeeze it to damp..lay in on the plate..put your seeds on the towel, then place another damp paper towel over that..after that put a dark bowl over it..put it in a dark place and DO NOT check on it for like 2 or 3 days..they should be sprouted by then..

as for your heat problem, i use a heater to heat my room, the lights after planting add on another like 3-5 degrees..are you growing outside? (i dont have experience with that sorry)..the upside to the plate/bowl trick is, it is VERY effective..ive never had a bad experience with that, and you can place it anywhere..preferably a warm, dark place. another upside is, if you use warm water it helps a bit too..any warm place you could think of in your house where a bowl can be placed? 65ish degrees or higher?

I would buy a small heater from WalMart and use this to compensate for the low temps. They are at most $15 for the cheaper heaters there.
