Germinating

Is it ok to place seeds directly into moist rockwool with small 26 w cfl not shining directly over?

I am wondering if this is acceptable if needing a little more warmth.

Thanks

I put my seeds directly into the soil, then in the closet with the rest of plants. That seems to work best for me. I lost many a beans trying the old paper towel merhod. So, I would say yes

seeds require 2 things to be happy:
#1. 26 C (80 F) temperature (Very important)
#2. Moisture

add more lights, or crack the cubbord to tune the temperature. it takes me 2x 23w bulbs to heat my cloning / germination room

P.S: i use soil method with 99% Success. literaly. we planted 120 seeds this spring and 118 Sprouted....

I appreciate replies.

Paper towel method means chances to damage tap roots. The moist rockwool was pulled back over and light on.

How many days till they sprout usually?

My favorite method is to slightly scarify the seed surface & soak in a cup of water for 24 hours.
Into the soil they go after that with great success.
