Germination. Advice!!!

Anything around or less than 7 is fine. It's pretty unusual for basic tapwater to not be perfectly fine for all phases of growing. Some people insist on letting it sit out a day to let chlorine evaporate, but over half of municipal water supplies use chloramine, not chlorine, which does not evaporate, so a waste of time.

ive been using tap water for germinating and it works fine for me and tap water can probably be used to water your plant aswell.

This is good to know. I always end up leaving a container of water out 24 hours before watering. Regarding pH, I would suggest testing or at least get a feel from other growers in your area pertaining to your city's pH levels. I started growing without testing pH and ran into some plant issues. Turned out my city's pH is 8+. Corrected the pH down to 6.5 and it's been smooth sailing for the most part.

I'm in Calgary, and thankfully there's no fluoride in the water here (that's aside from this discussion)...

I like to leave my water in my grow area so the temp is relative to what the plants will expect. Out of the tap, I get an average of 7.0-7.4. When left 24 hours exposed in the tent, that can increase to 8+, so I rectify with solution every time prior to watering (or misting).

As others have said, seems 6.5-6.9 is perfect for soil.

If you want to make absolutely sure while the plants are just germinating for the first couple of weeks you can use bottled drinking water. But no need to continue once the young un is up and running, tap water is usually ok.
