Germination in Soil

Okay, so I know this is a dumb question but I don't want to make any dumb mistakes from the start.

I'm getting ready to start my hashberry seeds and it's recommended to just drop them straight in the soil. I was wondering, do I put flouros on them right after I plant them or wait for something to come up, then start the lights?

Germinate them in a wet paper towel or something for 3 days before you start man, trust me. Dont go straight to soil. Once you have transplanted you will see life in atleast 2 days. I put light on like 15 hours after transplant.

i disagree. i germ in soil with micorhizzae. plants start out better that way. using the paper towel method, they dont have access to nutrients in the soil as soon as they do with direct planting. but im a big organics activist, so this is my personal opinion.

Im sure if i had someone show me your method i would be more open to it, but i think germinating in a wet towel is better for newbs.

well, its quicker... also, if youre working with just a couple seeds, you can drop them in a cup of water, and theyll sprout in 1-3 days. if you grow several, the roots will sometimes lump together and rot.

I'm more worried about when to use the light. Will they even be able to fully sprout without light?

I'm not using the paper towel method. While I know it's not a bad idea for newbs. On the mandala website, he recommends placing directly into soil. I feel like it's just a way of mimicking their great germination rates.

i wouldn't use a paper towel...jorge cervantes says that the little sprouted seed looses a verry important part when u take it off the paper towel...even if ur towle is always moist...he recomends just putting them in a cup of water...thats what i did and it worked fine! good luck dude!
