germination ppm & ph?

I picked up the Eliminator 100 lp basic ro system from my local hydro store and when hooked up it doesnt seem to do ANYTHING to lower the 880 ppm or 8.0 ph from the tap.. will this effect my germination rate until I get a new ro system in?

We just use a "PUR" tap filter- water comes out at 6.9 and doesn't register at all on the PPM meter-- at a LOT less $$ and Hassles than big systems!

However what's your starting ppm???

The OP starting point is 800ppm. IMO that's hard water. Really hard.

I use distilled water to germinate then once they've popped, stick them in the bubble bucket with a weak nute solution. I try to keep the nute solution between 5.6-6.2 for my DWC setup.

My starting ppm was around 900 now after running the eliminator off and on to flush its around 800. Ph has stayed at 8.2 out of r/o. Im gonna run through the troubleshooter again. Also the ppm from my yellow waste line is 228.. WTF.Can I germinate reliably at these numbers if I distill the water? I should have checked the water here before I signed the lease.. smfh.
