Germination Question

Hey guys,

So i just started germination of my seeds. and after some searching on the internet i picked a method that i felt was the easiest and would yield the best results. However i do have a few concerns, as i have never done this before and i was just wondering a few things...

I have the seeds in a jar, wrapped up in a moist paper towel and covered by a fleece blanket to insulate the jar and keep it a little warmer. I was just wondering if room temp like 65-70 degrees would be optimal for germination or if i needed to add some more heat.

I have read about people using a similar method but their temps were a little higher, will this effect the germination process or am i just being a little paranoid?

I don't think I've ever had a germination issue.. for some reason people have seemed to make it harder than it is. I just do it in peat pellets, soak, plant, cover in a dome and just walk away, in a couple days I have some plants going.

soo should i expect some good results from the method i have chosen, or did i just ruin like $40 in seeds? i cant imagine that the method is bad because soo many people do similar things to germinate, i was just wondering if the temp in my room would effect it at all...

word man, thanks for the advice. Any idea on how long it will take to germinate? I've heard as little as 24 hours and as long as 5 days. is it ok for me to take the moist paper towel out of the jar to check them, or is that a NO-NO?

New seeds can be really quick, older seeds can be a few days. Usually 2-3 days or so. Unless they're gonna be loosing moisture, I'd just leave them.

okay, I'm a noob. Do you want 24/7 light on the seeds, total darkness, 50/50, etc? That is what I am unsure of. I have searched, but don't find anything that answers that ?
