Germination question

Right now im germinating my seed in the "cup of water" method. I ordered a light from ebay and it probably wont get here till Tuesday or Wednesday. If the root gets to about an inch, is that okay? Right now its BARELY coming out.

If so, which way will I plant it? seed down so the root is sticking up? or root down, so the seed is on top?

Thanks,

So you are gonna put your new germed seed under an ebay light, ...? place your germed seed in dirt once germed(half inch) white tail down cover with soil keep warm, after 7 days place under a low level cfl

Soak seeds for one day. Stick seeds fingernail deep in the already watered medium. Don't add any bullshit additives. I get close to 100% germ rate doing it the way nature always has. I also have germed under Cfl all the way up to under a 1000w MH, makes no difference. The shock can come when you move a plant born under low wattage CFLs to a space with HID lighting.

lol ur funny man :D

If u alrdy see ur root coming out i would alrdy start to plant her.. A excess amount of water during germination could possibly harm the seed just letting u know

Oh and ur gonna want the root to go down and seed on top. In all reality it doesnt matter it will still grow.

And also when u plant ur seed poke a hole about 2 times as big as ur seed :D

Vostok above--he speak the truth--root down seed literaly on the surface or covered at least with a millimetre of well crumbled soil on top, give it a couple of days to settle then get a dim light on it, if you leave it too long without light at this time the seedling will stretch after a week or so and the first pair of true leaves are forming get your vegging light on it-----good luck
