I've heard people say both, but from personal exp. I'd leave them closed-- helps keep the paper towel from drying out. Wait a few days, then start checking them daily-- at most, it shouldn't take more than a week. Usually the tap roots show within 3 or 4 days. If they aren't growing after a week, then they probably won't at all. Just be sure they don't get too much sunshine, I find indirect sunlight near a window optimal. To much light, heavily fluctuating temps, or just serious neglect are really the only ways to screw it up-- it can lead to mold on your seeds. Just check after a couple of days, and the seeds will do the rest. Hope this helps. Good luck.

There is a small dent in the open end of the netting, after u soak the pellet make the hole a little deeper and plant seed then cover it over with side "dirt" I use tweezers to do this. DO NOT pick your seeds up with tweezers, had a chrisel shoot out of the tweezers and spent 20 minutes looking for the tan seed in the tan carpet LoL

I pull the netting back so the entire top is uncovered but leave it on the pellet.

I germinated 4 attitude seeds on the 16th and 3 of the four are too big 4 the green house already! The sensi star has not popped yet but I have faith!
