i planted 4 seeds in the soil on july 8 and 3 of them sprouted within 2-3 days. today i got curious of whats going on with the 4th seed so i decided to dig it up. i saw that the root was on top and the leaf part was on the bottom so i flip it around and buried the root back in soil. just wondering is it dead? the two oval leaves are yellow.

I have had this happen to me before where I had planted a seed in soil and 2 days went by and im like why is this not sprouting. So I unearthed it and found it growing upside down like a U and when I looked into why it happend, some people recommend planting your seed tail up, and I planted mine tail down. But somehow the plant is supposed to grow its root out and downward and then come up but I just reburied it root down and put it under some light and it stared to grow normal so who knows what may happen with the sprout.
their doing great except for the best looking one been droopy for 4 days now. think i overwater it but i havent water it for 2 days now but still droopy.

I have some Afghani seeds and everytime I pop some the tap root comes out instead of the leaves. I ALWAYS have to flip those babies right side up and all is well. Some of the best I have ever smoked but regardless of what you do, they come up...upside-down!

maybe you are underwatering? i would ASSUME that natural earth is dry on top, moist underneath. so if the seed felt more moisture on top, it's gonna grow a root towards the top.
i have this problem with clones sometimes because im too judicious in water application, and i generally dont water enough to moisten the soil all the way down. they can develop shallow roots this way. i would bet this behavior would be more common in spray watering, where the top soil gets thouroughly wetted but may not be moist enough to travel deeper than a half inch or so.
i may try to force this behavior with hermie seeds, just for curiosity's sake.

myself, when i start new seedlings and clones i always mist 2 or 3 times a day for the first week or 2 of their lives. then go to once every day or 2 after that for the rest of veg. and i don't mist at all during flowering. mayybe once a week if i think it needs a bit moisture.
