Yeah but we aren't talking about a reputable site advertising relevant products, we are talking about random people starting random blogs with filler ads. I don't think advertising is a bad thing, especially targeted advertising that may actually pay off. 99.99% of the internet does not fit into this category though. Where does the money come from? Logic would dictate that people click your ads, and ultimately must spend money. If they do not spend enough money to cover the price of advertising (the money you get) then the system is unsustainable and will collapse. I just don't see how it is realistic to expect that anyone can just start a blog, put ads in, and reap profit. At least not anything that would make it worth your while to participate.

YouTube, is owned by Google. So if you are signed up with AdSense, or want to. You can get paid for making YouTube videos about whatever you want, not just blogging about whatever you want.

Get 1,000 total views.
There will be a "Monetize" button on your YouTube account page at that point.
They start putting ads in your videos.

most banks / credit unions will pay you $50 for opening a new checking/savings account and give you 25 bucks for each referral. So you go in with 3 buddies, you (in total) get 475 bucks just for opening an account with no fees. Most of the time you can leave 5 bucks in the account and avoid penalties all together. so $455, still, a whole lot less work than this online ad space shit.
