Wow getaway that's such an amazing endeavor you and yours are taking on! I would love to be brewing my own kelp extract!
I use ascophyllum nodosum throughout my grow cycle as well, even as a surfactant in anything else I spray.

Funny story about the kelp.

I got a buddy who discovered using ascophyllum nodosum as a foliar a few seasons ago, but he wanted to sound extra smart so he went around our lil circle telling everyone he's be having such great luck spraying his plants with "CHITLINS"!

We were all like wtf "chitlins" he's fucking with us.

Later on I went an saw his few plants that he'd been spraying with "chitlins" and they were fucking huge and loving life!

So I ask him, "chitlins? ok... what's your application rate?"

AN I SHIT YOU NOT, he pulls out a bottle of age old KELP, and tells me the app rate....

I nearly died fucking laughing as he the ENTIRE SEASON, had meant to be saying CYTOKINS!!!!

hahahahahahaha fucking stoner!
To this day he's the master of chitlins!!!

ya it works well and iv'e been using it for about 5 years now the old farmers get it every fall to till into their veggie gardens and the veggies they grow are huge and colorful as hell .seaweed was their secret that was it nothing fancy or a big secret we just got a lifetime supply at home right in front of the house on all the islands where we live at in maine (we live on a island also ) so where it is getting popular these days we decided to make an extract out of it in ca. only a 5 day drive to get it here !!lol...

haha iv'e made and fucked up over 20000 gallons of juice and dumped all of it cause of one mistake or another and it went septic !! i'm a retired commercial fisherman that got put out of buisness from federal quotas and high fuel prices . seeing i got a lifetime supply of ascophyllum nodosum at my door step why not make some seaweed extract , just wasn't as easy as i thought it was going to be . lol... now i got the formula figured out its time to make it for the masses , not watered down and stupid expensive like alot of the stuff out there now !!

Getaway I'm very curious if you've used Sparetime supply (out of willits, ca) soluble seaweed powder (1-0-18 ) or any other dried seaweed extract concentrates?

I'd bet if you could make your concentrate then figure out how to dry it out without losing or damaging your product you could ship anywhere!
I wonder if it's freeze dried or slow /low temp dried??

Just a thought as I've been using kelp as well for years but hate to pay retail for what a bottle of nitrozime costs, hence I've been using sparetimes soluble seaweed powder to cut corners...

whats it go for retail there in co. ? and no iv'e always just used what we have at home cause it is everywhere there we also have the brown bull kelp like ca. that i'm looking at also got to get that species analized to compare with the ascophyllum nododsum seaweed to see what is best in what maybe a custom blend if i can find a lab rat that can work it out the right way

Nitrozime here in CO runs around $200/gal (used at an app rate of 1ml/gal) and the soluble seaweed from sparetime is $90-100 for 5lbs (app rate being 1tsp/5gal).

I've also used BioAgs cytoplus ($40-50/2.2lb) but that stuff gets super expensive on the larger scale. Also the old standard age old kelp is around $40/gal.

Maybe I'm nerding out about kelp a lil much but I also switched out House & Gardens Algen Extract with age old kelp on my synthetic indoor gals in coco and it's saved me quite a bit of $ overall.

Looking good and flushed out there Getaway! Happy chopping!

012.jpg015.jpg005.jpg006.jpg007.jpg010.jpgwell the 2 plants we cut today are all trimmed up and look good it really stinks in the yurt right now be at least a lb so a solid 1/2 lb to them 2 plants not bad for a 90 day or so plant start to finish zero mold and no pest or bug problems
