Getting Caught in Illinois?

Hello all. I know a kid that goes to my old school that's a minor (15) years old. He is growing ONE plant in his parents house in Illinois. His mom and brother know, but don't care, and is hiding it from his dad. What would happen if he got caught? His record is clean. Im worried about him losing his house and his parents. So if anything major can happen, I want to talk some sense into him so he realizes that he shouldn't grow until hes 18 and in his own home by himself.

Any info will be appreciated

what would happen is court suppervision one year then its off record if court supervision is completed successfully. and maybe a couple hundred dolla fine to be paid to the cannabis control act. blah blah blah... its slap on wrist

5k in fines and less than 1 year in jail, thats what im worried about. a couple hundred dollars is not much. So who is correct?

Its up to the judge. can be court costs or can be up to 5k.

Possessing between 5 - 20 plants is a Class 4 felony, punishable by a minimum sentence of 1 year and a maximum sentence of 3 years, as well as a fine of $25,000.
Possessing between 20 - 50 plants is a Class 3 felony, punishable by a minimum sentence of 2 years and a maximum sentence of 5 years, as well as a fine of $25,000.
Possessing between 50 - 200 plants is a Class 2 felony, which is punishable by a minimum jail term of 3 years and a maximum sentence of 7 years, along with a maximum fine of $100,000
Possessing more than 200 marijuana plants is a Class 1 felony, punishable by imprisonment of a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 20 years, as well as a maximum fine of $100,000.

Instead of posting this bullshit on a forum, go tell the kids mom or quit posting this shit, these are the type of things that get people raided, like you for posting it, and him for doing it, your both fucking morons. If you grow and your not legal expect to get busted, jail time, prison, they will give you what they want and charge you with multiple charges if you do get it so don't only expect you will be facing that charge if you do get caught.

A lot of people grow illegally on here, and if hes growing one plant I doubt he will get raided. And i only posted this because i know that they can sell your house off at auction if you get caught. Now im 18 and dont live with my parents anymore, so dont post your bullshit on my question. I was just trying to get some advice. Which I did. Then you poped in here and said that. Grow the fuck up.
