Getting to be that time of year

So I've been slowly cutting my crop Down and theyer starting to to get a lot more purple because of the cold nights. I'm in southern Georgian bay area Ontario Canada for you yanks! :p it's starting to hit 9 and 7 degrees at night and I still have 5 or 6 plants out in the bush theyer about a week to 2 weeks away from being finished and I don't want to pluck them early but the cold and the amount of wind and rain this whole past week is not good for the buds I'm sure. My question is when is it to cold for them at night?

A light frost is when the temperature dips below 32*F / 0*C. Many strains can survive this for very brief periods. 28*F / -2*C is when danger sets in. 24*F / -4*C is a hard frost and kills most plants. A lot also depends on the humidity (higher is better), if clouds are present (they can force cold air to the ground), and if it's windy (wind creates friction, which makes heat and moves cold air away). If you mulch in the spring and summer (great thing to do btw) in the fall you want to remove it so the moisture doesn't get trapped in the soil and cause the roots to freeze.

If you anticipate a cold snap, cover your plants at night with tarps, emergency blankets, or burlap. Anything to help keep the heat in. A few degrees can make all the difference. Just remember to uncover early in the morning.

Only problem is theyer about an hour and a half hike both ways and I have to walk. Won't go into te bush anymore by myself either already got chased out by a black bear right in my garden last week lol. It's raining almost everyday and night for the past week. We had our first light frost 3 nights ago and it hasn't been back since, our temps are supposed to go up a few degrees but around here that changes pretty quick. The wind hasn't stopped blowing in about a week and I'm finding wet spots on my plants that aren't drying like 95% of the rest of the plant, should mold be a big worrie yet?

Yikes. Yeah don't mess around with Black Bears. lol. Anyway, I don't think you have to worry about mold. The rule used by tobacco smokers is 70% RH and 70*F is the safe zone. Anytime you go above 75% RH at 70*F you can get mold. However, when the ambient temperature drops below 70*F (or in your case down to near freezing) mold is less likely. Mold needs high humidity and warm temperatures to grow.

During the days it's a mild 10 to 20 degrees and getting cooler everyday. I went to check on my baby's today and found more purple but not as much, the cool temps sure make them look beautiful. I still have one plant that is only a month into flowering and has a long way to go, all white pistils, I cut down 3 yesterday and 3 more today. None of them put out much weight but I had a very late start. I have 4 plants left to let finish. 1 will by ready By Sunday 2 more have about 2 weeks left and the one big one I found on a walk and relocated to my garden has about 6 weeks left.... I know it's an ignorant thing to "steal" plants but the retard put it on the side of a trail... My 73 year old grandmother pointed it out on a walk lmao! Anyways if I decide to go for a hike tomorrow I'll take some pictures of what I have left. I will post a few pics of my harvest so far tomorrow morning

I also had to cut one plant down about a month early from mold problems and my brother just cut one of his down tonight cause of mold, I've been keeping my eyes open but haven't been any signs of it yet thankfully. No black bears on the past 2 trips either thank god lmao
