GG#4 Terp profile

OK this thread oughta be fun...

ok step 1: give me a detailed description of GG4 flavor profile, what state, Month you had it, Dense buds?, soft buts?l.

ok step 2: has anyone had multiple terp profiles of GG4? if so what state and when?

my theory: at least 3 genotypes being called GG4 floating around.. anyone agree?

I would believe it I watched some video with Robert Clarke, DJ Short, a few other guys one who is big into the DNA testing of marijuana and it turns out that their is at least 8 different "real" Blue Dream cuts floating around. Comes down to it is truly Super Silver Haze X Blueberry not Santa Cruz Haze may be what they call the Super Silver Haze pheno but it is SSH according to the DNA.

I'll see if I can find the video it was pretty informative. But just like the myth of the "real" GSC I believe the same is going on with GG#4 as we all know what happened with OG Kush and all it's mostly just a bunch of bullshit hype to get a higher price. From what I have read they where getting a thousand dollars extra per pound of GSC when most everything I read it was no better than a good OG Kush.

I did smoke some GG#4 that came from a dispensary and while it was really good it was not worth the hype IMO could have been a fake or not grown to perfection but I got a good feeling all the hyped up shit is about the money.

I also remember seeing Shantibaba calling bullshit on THC testing saying something like " I doubt any plant can test at more than 20% total cannabinoids " and that dude has done some serious testing being part founder of CBD Crew I just couldn't find it again.

What's up bro. Long time.

1 bubba esq deep chummy chocolate with coffee . Best way I can describe the buds is like styrofoam. Light but crispy. Breaks down easy. Usually 65 days

2 I get more chocolate the longer I take it. More Chem pulled early. I've grown it outdoor and it was more sweet.

3 though they might be a little different sometimes, I can tell gg4 right away. And I can tell when it's a fake.

shanti and dj short aren't great current role models for me. both are very stuck in the stone age of cannabis. not always a bad thing but when it comes to pheno variability and stabilization of these new hybrids DJ and Shanti are decades behind in my opinion. both shanti and DJ beans provide 9/10 phenos that taste very close to hempy land race strains...

just saying lol..

the dna thing is interesting and from what I've seen they haven't been able to lock it down yet. a few years ago (very disappointingly) someone was able to get 2 different DNA tests from the same plant matter to prove that MJ dna testing is still in its infancy. il try to find the vid.

in my opinion DNA doesn't have to be identical to reach the same conclusion either... I've had pheno types of diesels that taste and look IDENTICAL to fruity strains..

when it comes to GG4 tho... this is a single "cut" that was supposedly spread all over the place and i literally haven't been able to get 2 bags that are even a bit similar. even in the OG kush heyday half of the bags at least had that skunk gas funk even if it wasn't some special cut...

basically the GG4 crazy to me is the most unsubstantiated hype fueled craze yet...

if we can get DNA testing figured out (maybe someone has by now) THATLL HELP ALOT but for now its just anecdotal and like i said... many different cuts floating around.

see i haven't had a bubba'esque one yet. one was kinda sweet and creamy tho, might just be a slightly different expression.

glad you chimed in, wheres it fall next to your OG's?

Tastes great. I smoke og and have to smoke a whole joint to get as high as 3-4 puffs off og

does it yield more to make up? faster growth? I've just finally got my strains dialed in and I'm getting good yields of medium to high quality even quality meds but literally half my patients don't even wanna look at it cause its not GG4.

I've asked my patients to bring me this GG4 that has them so happy and so far the only thing its got better then mine is its price... 140 a zip all day around genesee county.

in my opinion this is caused from people blowing out grows when either they aren't skilled enough or whatever and end up with a monster pile of mediocre hype strain and in order to maintain overage numbers they go cheap cheap and people BUY BUY BUY cause the hype driving everyone else down...

i even asked my patient "if i got you my grail for the same price would you want it?" and mostly the answer was "Meh, sometimes i guess"

its literally like everyone just wants to get drunk of bud lite select or whatever instead of a nice micro brew.... like bud lite select its got hype but it tastes the same as some mids but costs more then mids...

i know its just economics 101 but i gotta know if there was at least a genesis to this hype thats running strong in the shadows somewhere..

I have GG#4 too and it's the exact same as what kgp said kinda similar to Bubba with the mocha/coffee flavor which comes from the Chocolate Diesel and as he said the longer your flower the more you get it less more Chem. Very loud unique diesel is the best way to put it. Good stuff out when you talk about getting it and getting it from many sources the quality of it comes in question. Seen it too many times same exact stuff clone/pheno grown by two different people different environments and ways they grow and it's like it's not the same. Different smell and taste so that comes into play too and not everyone drys and cures the same so all that's there. But it has unique smell and flavor that I could tell if it was put in front of me with nugs that may look the same

Yes it does yield well and it's very vigorous lots of stretch too once flipped. But I think that's what makes it sought after the way it is because it yields very good meds with good potency and flavors bag appeal and all so it kinda hits every mark you want well. Everyone is different in taste and smells and high so keep may not be good on any level to someone but all those qualities are good IMHO and only knock I have with it is it needs support.

Coming from you and Kgp those statements hold weight. I guess I've probably just been exposed to the bottom end of the gg4 in Michigan right now, il keep my eyes open

Anything worthwhile I've noticed needs support... If your bud to stem ratio is such that the buds support them self (critical mass) then your probably growing more hemp fiber then you oughta be... If I can find a buyer for hemp too I'm all for some TREES but in the meantime I like me some falling over bitches with baseballs on chopsticks lol

Needing support is a good sign imo

Yea she will def give you frosty icey buds and decent yield even on a poor run to my standards. I still haven't given her a real true 100% proper run fed right no root bound every time I've grown her did that lol very easy to grow so I didn't really put much into her like I should but she def will get that from now on. If you like Chem and Diesel you will like her plus lil Bubba like flavor good potency yield bag appeal you will like it. Clones very easy too but try to source from a good place or person that's very healthy cus the dud cut is out there. She will look good until flower and branches will have no frost no smell no nothing like a dud. I haven't seen it much back toward the east coast it seems more like on west coast but it is real for sure. And I totally agree with you on the fiber part. Usually viney lanky strains OG, Cookies, GG4 and others are pretty damn good so I'll go with that any day

Here is some info I found on DNA testing too. Looks very promising hopefully some results will be coming from it soon.

There are definitely different cuts floating around Michigan. The first one I had was kinda meh. I assumed that the glue was all hype after growing it. I was then given a much better cut, and the difference is stark. MUCH better all around. I now see where the hype is coming from, and feel that it's deserved. Excellent bud IMO. Nothing mediocre about it at all.

I agree with @kgp above. The texture of the finished bud is like styrofoam.

Heavy yield. Smells of sour pungent feet, fuel, and cat piss, with a hint of earthy/nuttiness hidden behind. The buds are unique. Dense, but very "calyxy", with a "whispyness" about them. Light green (faint pastel), covered with frost, as are the "sugar leaves". Really no need to trim as the leaves match the pastel green of the bud and are equally covered in trich's. Also, the sugar leaves are far less turgid (than any strain I've ever come across). They are "soft". If the sugar leaves are greener than the bud (instead of the faintest of pastel greens), turgid (in any sense), or not completely frosted (top and bottom), then there is an issue.

KO punch. No one can keep their eyes open. Even heavy dabbers are put to sleep.


Almost forgot to add the "stickiness". It's like the booger you can't flick off. It sticks in containers (to the last nug, like trying to get that last vitamin capsule/gummy worm from a jar). It clumps together, like a bag of Velcro. Yes, all goods buds "stick together", but GG is literally like Velcro (even makes the sound as you peel it apart).

Damn, I just rubbed the stem of one in veg to see if there was any defining scent, but all that I'm getting is the generic "musky" nose. Just have to cross your fingers and hope for the best.
