True. My gelato is sensitive to drought. The ones in ground don't wilt, but the lower leaves start to slightly fade if not watered at least every 3rd day.Sometimes a few extra yellowing leafs on a few of your plants is due to late watering, all plants consume water at different rates. They look good to me let's hope we can all keep the bugs way until harvest
I water every other day to water and wet the outside of my smartpots and a small amount on the top of my in ground plants to keep the soil cooler. Before i started this they just seemed to survive the heat waves now they thrive in the hot weather.True. My gelato is sensitive to drought. you are lucky to have hot weather. This time of yr for me its 70s in the day and 40-50 at night.I water every other day to water and wet the outside of my smartpots and a small amount on the top of my in ground plants to keep the soil cooler. My plants in ground don't get too hot because the roof diffuses the light eliminating hot spots. Gelato I'm finding to be a very whiny, high maintenance strain. But I'm sure the buds will be well worth my efforts to keep them happy. Good idea about wetting the outside of the smart pot. I've noticed when even slowly watering the soil the outermost soil in the pots where the roots stop stays dry. I'll give this a go next time.I water every other day to water and wet the outside of my smartpots and a small amount on the top of my in ground plants to keep the soil cooler. I remember all the rain and flooding you had it's way easier to grow here. we all have our own problems with all outside growsyou are lucky to have hot weather. This time of yr for me its 70s in the day and 40-50 at night.
a lot of indoor growers are growing gelato now it seems to be one of the hot strains now. the seeds from california & Oregon breeders work for me outside without chucking pollen to help with timing and heat. My greenhouse plants in smartpots dry out slower than that one that is losing all the leafs i have outside. My plants in ground don't get too hot because the roof diffuses the light eliminating hot spots. so far I've been pest-free although I went outside yesterday and found some thrips on another one of my plants so I sprayed the shit out of them with trifecta. I haven't had a chance to check them today so I'm hoping it workedSometimes a few extra yellowing leafs on a few of your plants is due to late watering, all plants consume water at different rates.
