ghetto closet cfl setup. good/bad?

these 2 plants are about 2 1/2 months old, they started off REALLY stunted and unhealthy but have really jumped off in the past couple weeks.im wondering about when i should start 12/12 to have them about 2-3 feet when i harvest. the lights are 24/0 now. and will there b enough light for them to have a respectable yeild if i switch my bulbs with 2700k bulbs?

Also they look real good, how tall are they exactly? maybe you let them veg a wee bit too long for a cfl flowered grow...But you can still get great yield just add some more cfls...or up the wattage.

they look nice those cfls look like 75k right?

all together its 215 watts.(i think, not reall good with math lol) theres 6 7500k 23 watt and 3 23 watt 2700k and 4 17 watt 4100k tubes.

Change them in the ratio 2:1 for 2700k bulbs and 5400k ( vegging bulbs ) and on 12/12 you should get some beat flowers, seems like a very reasonable amount of wattage to use

can I just suggest that you trim of you lower braches. the light wont penetrate the canopy that much. and it'll direct the plants energy to the top of the plant where it recieves more light= biger colas

oh and yeh thosetwo hairs are definantly famatle pistols. and not a male pod that I can see nice plants

Those are some bushy ass.. crooked plants.. you need to prune the shit out of them.. get most of the older growth on top taking off and completly.. take off all the bottom branches.. there not even getting light and are wasting energy that could be used on new growth.. Take off the bottoms like prolly 4 inches off the soil since there so small.. I don't understand why the plants have been stunded and kinked like that.. for 2 and half months thats crazy... you have plenty of lumens.. I just got done with vegging.. with my CFL setup and only did it for a month and a half.. they are in flowering now.. all 4 plants are over 3 and half foot tall going into flowering.. something is up... what nuts are you using... whats the temp.. what soil.. answer those questions and I'll be able to further help out... plus to add a note.. get the 2700k bulbs and start flowering immediately... good luck bro..

Montucky and Lemon Haze look like twin sisters my friend! Are you sure they aren't the same strain? That "ghetto closet" has done well for you lol! Yeah just like the other guys said man.. swap some of those veg lights for 2700k and switch them puppies to 12/12. They're going to be nasty!

iv been debating on pruning the lower branches, but i will later today for sure =) thanks for all the advice everybody! its helped alot. and im possative there not the same strain. they could b real close tho ( got seeds from growers ina VERY small town so they both could have come from the same place at one time) i got one from a caregiver and the other from a friends bag he got from some kid lol but im getting 2700k bulbs on tuesday (payday) and starting 12/12 on wednesday. but they started in STA-GREEN slow release nitrogen soil, about 55-65 F, no nutes. when i moved into my closet i switched to black gold potting soil, 70-80 F, and fox farm grow big 1/4th strength ever 3 or 4 waterings

Yeah who knows why they were stunted man.. but it shouldn't matter in the future.. with the setup you have at this point you shouldn't be looking at anymore stunted plants. You're closet looks pretty solid to me. Some people say prune the shit out of it. It's all personal choice man. I wouldn't cut on it too much though, just dead shit on the bottom. If you tie branches down and spread it out a little bit it will do wonders.. get the lights up on it, like 2-4 inches away and they will go nuts.

thanks bro, i hope my stunted unhealthy days are over lol but forrsure, im not goona take any thing that isnt healthy. and ill see what i can do with the lights, im thinking of maybe changing the setup so i can put a few cfls around the sides of em to help spread the light towards the bottom of em.

dont listen to this guy u cut your lower branches and u will wish u didnt

put it this way if u cut a couple of ur fingers off your not gonna be able to function right


u trim ur lower branches and fan leaves then u will have less fan leaves to obsorb the light more fan leave more light obsorbed bigger buds

Mine had lots of nut burn and stuff while it was little i didnt think it was gonna live but its looking way way better now if u look at my albums i have pics from day 1 and why dont u just buy big 2700k cfl spiral bulbs there 100w i think = to 300w thats what i am useing

2700k for flower

damn there beautiful, do not trim anything, let it grow, your doing good, just keep doing what your doing, start 12/12 when ever you feel right with doing so, you could start now if you wanted to, but wait till they grow taller a bit, if height wise space is a problem, then start 12/12 now

space is no issue at all, i have about 5 more feet for them to grow tall, and many feet for them to fill out thicker. i trimed 5 or 6 leaves off the bottom of the plants that had been drooping alot and looking wrinked and withered,they were all just tiny leaves, nothing healthy. i think it wus from the light not penatrating deep enough to get them. and dont you have to buy a certain type of fixture to use the big 100 watt cfls? ill get those if i can use the sockets i already have. im kinda on a budget so i would rather get bulbs that fit my sockets ya know
