Ghetto Heat Mat

LOL the best thing ive ever used to germinate seeds was the top of my digital cable box. Throws off a nice consistent heat and germination has never been a problem.
 
to germinate my seeds i put them in papertowels n wet it then i squeezed some water out so its not to wet. put it inside a plastic bag and left it inside my cpu for awhile :)
 
i used to put seeds in a mason jar filled halfway w/ water, sit on the top of the wood stove and wait. i know this sounds unbelievable but i've had seeds to open w/in 3 hrs! and yes they were still viable afterward and came up and watnot. just thot i'd share that and see if anyone else had tried this before?
 
If you have a gas stove , you can place the seeds between two saucers and towel (wet) on top of stove . and the heat from the pilot light will be warm enough. i just did it in a Dominoes (the game not the pizza) tin can its in the mid 40's right now and the heating pad has a auto shut off.
they poped in about 18 hrs , and the second set poped in 24 hrs. 68-72 degrees , total dark , as soon as the popped put in rockwool

Im no expert , got the idea right here in the Forums!
tried it and it worked.

Now that i think about it the top of a water heater would be great just have to make sure they stay moist.
