DAY 43 of 12/12 ~ Day 22 of Flower
Picked myself up at green bulb so I can work in the room during the dark cycle. It's kinda unnerving having it on cause it lights up the room so much but it's better than working in the dark and since the girls don't react to the green light I guess it's alright. There's one bud on GSC #1 that is quite a bit larger than the rest of em, GSC #2's buds are still kinda airy but frosty as hell. Still no signs of any deficiencies, they were sitting at 720 ppm this morning when I checked on em. I think the combination of the RDWC flow rate as well as the large airstones in the buckets are providing optimal nutrient uptake to the plants, which is allowing me to run them at a lower level. According to the Advanced Nutrients calculator, I should be feeding them at 1100 ppm right now, obviously I don't use their nutrient calculator, but it gives you an idea of the disparity between recommended nutrient levels and optimal nutrient levels. We all know it's a fine line between too little and too much nutrients, the key is finding that sweet spot.
Freddelucas, those pics are great! Some beautiful looking plants, I'd love to get a smaller green house like that setup in my backyard, unfortunately we have too many neighbors. But my plants are doing great! It's hard to pinpoint the smell they're producing right now, but I'd say it's pretty close to lemon and fuel. I'm getting all sorts of trichs on even some of the larger fan leaves, it seems as though anything within like a 3" radius of the bud sites has trichs on it. As far as my advanced nutrients lineup goes, I ran pH perfect sensi grow a&b during veg, and now that I'm in flower I've been running pH perfect connoisseur a&b, big bud, bud candy, and I'll be using overdrive toward the end of the flowering cycle. Bud boosters are great and all but I've been using them very lightly and relying more on the base nutes. I've found that the easiest way to over-fertilize your plants is by adding too many boosters, which in the long run may or may not produce larger yields. So I like to error on the side of caution, give them what they need for their base nutes, and give them just a taste of the booster so I'm not throwing my nutrient levels out of whack. But man I hope my girls get some of that gorgeous color yours have! My temps stay between around 68.5F with the lights on and around 64F with the lights off so I'm expecting to see some nice color as they finish up. On the flipside of that however, the relatively low daytime temp I run is probably causing these girls to mature slower than they normally would if they were at around 75F during the light cycle, but that's winter growing for you.. Anyway, here's some more pics for everybody.
