no the bacteria wasnt its just a different strain
Just saw this.

If it's a naturally occurring strain, wouldn't it be incompatible with mosquitoes if it keeps killing its host?

They didn't SAY they genetically modified the bacteria, but they weren't exactly forthcoming about any other alternatives.

what the fuck does that say asshole

well they may not label it as "genetically modified" with the bad rap gmos are getting but they certainly are being genetically modified that's for sure

I voted both like and dislike because im undecided
why???

its a question as to where you said

but they certainly are being genetically modified that's for sure

i even bolded it out for emphasis so you could know what i was talking about

MosquitoMate has developed the ability to breed two types of mosquitoes that often carry diseases—Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti—that carry a different form of the bacteria that’s incompatible with the Wolbachia carried by their wild mosquito counterparts.

your hung up on the term "gmo"

who fucking cares,

whether its gmo or science fucking with nature or a cat fucking a dog its beside the point

the question is what will be the long term negative environmental impact... without the ability to read that info that's been provided by non bias parties I will remain undecided

in your orginal post did you take the time to bold anything out?

did you take a second or so to wonder why i bolded it out AND made the letters bigger?

or the part where i specifically refered to GMO in post 4, 8, 10, 11,17,19 etc

heres a hint...

it has to do with them not modifying the genes:hump::hump::hump:
its interesting that your just so sure

ok so how did they do it and how do we know its not going to affect the food chain starting with the reptiles that rely on them to feed on?
and then working its way up

explain to me how scientist say
if the bee population disappears the world will end but killing all the misquotes wont do anything to the eco balance

what happens if we find out that the altered misquote patterns end up having some type of negative impact on those whom might be bitten by said insects

have these studies been done and if so have they been published to the public and pier reviewed

because they wont be there to eat. thats whole idea

well the world wont end if bees dissappear thats an idiotic idea but it will have effect on flowering plants that have a symbiotic relationship with the bees

mosquitos dont have a symbiotic relationship with plants. only a relationship with the bacteria inside them that kills millions of people every single year

dude

what do you mean

because they wont be there to eat

frogs and lizard and likely hundreds of reptiles or animals eat misquotes, if you take away that food source what will they eat??
what will the reptiles eat??

and when the reptile population drops from lack of food itll affect the birds that eat the reptiles and so on

do you understand how the eco system works?

just because the misquto doesn't pollinate plants doesn't mean it doesn't have its place in the food chain

theres many different types of mosquito only a couple carry dangerous diseases

they are only targeting 2 of those types
MosquitoMate has developed the ability to breed two types of mosquitoes that often carry diseases—Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti
there will still be all the other types of mosquitos
