@Jakenbake.

man, so i got a bunch of sand from a dune near my house, washed the shit outta of it in a 5gal bucket, only put it on maybe 6 or 7 containers - cus i was in a rush and only wanted to test on a few anyways; I didnt water or anything after that. I check them tonight, and clearly something happened to 4 of them. There is severe leaf damage on lower leaves. I mean, in a quick ass fashion. I havent seen anything develop this fast before. Like shrivel up, folding in I think.

If you or any1 else needs a pic or 2, I can do so. I'm going to go take some anyways. I'm tempted to just scrape the sand off of those, and then what? rinse the medium? Its weird that it didnt happen to any of the other ones, and just these. The only thing that was done prior to the sand was I gave all the girls some humtea. That's it. I know that didnt do it, so it must have been the sand. I'm SO glad I didnt put it on all of them. /sigh

sand is great for this, 1/2-1" and they can't lay eggs, so within 14 days pretty much all will be gone.

I dunno about going out to a dune and getting sand though... Who knows what is in it. Could be lime based, and case a dramatic increase in PH. Could contain salts. I get the stuff from the garden store. Labeled as decorative potting sand. Gets kinda brown looking at the end of the grow, but still keeps the gnats away very well. I can't imagine using any other means this is so simple.

nah. i figured it out. I set off a fogger early that morning. its just the sides of those plants nearby where it went off. The tabels are raised about 8 - 10" off the floor, and then in 3gal containers. I've done foggers in there before, and never had this problem. I used this product http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Sol-Release-Aerosols-Foggers/dp/B002JTUNIE for the 1st time, and that screwed up those leaves/bud sites. Should i just snip those off now? this sux.

Use some kind of cover for the top of the pots these are easy to make also water the shit out of the plant's then allow them to dry realy out also get some sticky fly catchers and shake the plants a few times a day this will normaly do the trick..........tyke.......................
