The Old Testament God, or if you prefer god... sounds like quite a bad person...

My favorite is when the bald guy wanted to punish the children for making fun of him...

if you are to believe the bible yes god is a horrible entity and when i was younger i always thought god was the devil b/c his best trick is to make you believe he is not real or so they say. i always figured it would be better to pretend to be god and turn all the followers against the true savior. but i grew up and realized that this is what we have and all we have fuck living for freedom in the here after im living for today. plus its hard to believe in the spaghetti monster in the sky after going through so much higher learning

Yes, the Old Testament "God" is a pretty psychotic sociopath.

But the Old Testament was origionally meant for the Jews but it was later adapted by the Christians. The New Testament is much less violent and less of "God" dictating the fate of peoples lives.

Christ seems much different then the Old Testament "God".

I dont believe in most of the Bible, to be honest; I only believe in parts of the Bible.

Maybe some of the "prophets" that heard from God were really schizophrenic sociopaths? And maybe most of the Bibles "prophets" are really FALSE PROPHETS!

Either way, the Old Testament was written well over 2,000 years ago, and they were just writting what an ancient people could understand.

I attended a funeral a few months ago for a woman who had had, to put it mildly, a very difficult life. She was actually found dead when people went to pick her up the morning of her daughters wedding. When the preacher was giving the eulogy and he was trying to put the best light on her life and struggles he said something about no matter how much she struggled, God had a plan for her. I couldn't resist the urge to lean over and whisper to my companion, the grooms mother, "God was kind of a Dick eh?"

If pleasures are sins, and there is no sin in heaven, if heaven exists... would you really want to go there?

Lucifer means ''morningstar'' and ''the guiding light''.... He was the ''brightest star in heaven'', and god's favorite. God threw him down because of jealousy.

I believe in right and wrong first and foremost. The rest is up to interpretation, but as one of the Founding Fathers said, I believe we will be judged by our actions, not our thoughts or belief.

I think that it sort of depends if you believe in 'God' or not. If you do your going to think differently same if you don't believe in 'God' your going to see him in a different way.

I was raised a Cathoholic as well. Cannibalism (transubstantiation) is bad, even when it's called by a big long mysterious word.

hmmmmm you don't believe in most of the bible but you believe in some bits , that always makes me laugh when someone says that , how did you come about finding out which bits are true and which bits aren't , did you go about finding out the correct bits fairly or are you doing what i expect and just picking out the bits that suit your own personal agenda ?

and you call your god a 'him' does that mean your gods a male ? and if so is there a female ?
