Going away for 11 days

...I have nobody to watch my crops.

This isn't a rhetorical question, as no matter what, I'll be leaving my plants for 11 days commencing 0300 MST for business.

Wondering if my Oasis 8053 plant feeders will take care of my flowering tent and the 24 plants in there.

My Mother plants are all going to die as I ran out of time to figure out automation for them, but my clones in the aerocloner should be fine.

I'm hoping that my flower girls are still alive when I get back, and when my moms are dead, I should be able to spin up new moms from clones, although that's going to fuck up my schedule by a few weeks.

Thoughts?

I used to do a lot of guerrilla growing and one of the inventions I used was to drill a hole the same size as the OD of a piece of 1/4" tubing near the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket and put the tubing through the hole. You need to put a connector fitting on the tubing inside the bucket and then pull it tight, the fitting trying to go through the hole will make a watertight seal. Take a screw (a sheetrock screw works great) and thread it into the end you are going to put into your pot. You can adjust the screw to give you a regular drip that should keep your plants alive for quite some time. You can also use more than one bucket with a hose or tubing in between (full of water of course :) ) to give you even more capacity and more time. Elevate your bucket(s) and have a nice trip knowing you Moms will be there when you get home. Have a great day, Larry

not familiar with the oasis but if you have a big enough rez and a basic drip system you can easily keep them alive. If you don't have a big enough rez put the timer on a lower setting or partially close a shut off valve so they get just enough water to survive without completely draining your rez before you get back. good luck

You might be fucked.
You don't fuckin' say... :P

I've considered running a pump from a large res on a timer that pushes for a minute per day through a half-inch tube and poke holes in it, but I'm literally out of time. I need to pack and prep and I've got nothing left.

My mother plants *will* die, and I have to rely on my drip machines for my flowering plants.

I have a worst case scenario situation, which is my 25 clones should do their thing, so I will have at minimum a place to re-start when I get home.

The only way that fails is if my house burns down, and if that's the case, I have some bigger issues ;)

Ya thats exactly what I do and works great, and its cheap. It can take some time to get the individual lines in the tubing but if your crunched for time just do 1 per plant. They aren't all on a tray are they? You could just have one tube from the pump go into the tray so they would at least bottom feed.

I'm sorry if I've missed posts, but I'm literally packing for a flight on the fly.

I thought about bottom feeding, and I think that is really my only option right now. I hate to think I'm putting my moms that have done so well for me in a pool of water, but there's no other choice.

I have a close homie who is the only person who knows what I do locally that'll stop by, but I can't reach him. I'm going to leave my house keys at my office, and direct my staff to hand the keys to a person who comes in with his name, then I'll order him what I need.

For now, I'll put the soil pots in about 1.5" of pH water, and fucking pray for the best if my homie don't show up.

what are your mother plants sitting in?
They were in plastic pots with very good soil, sitting on a mylar sheet, but now they are sitting in about 1.5" of pH'd water in a tin turkey thingy (I'm stoned... I can't find the word).

All my moms are knee deep in water. There's multiple possible outcomes. I trust my drip systems to basically do the right thing. They should at minimum drown my plants which I can then revive, or it will supply the appropriate amount of water while I'm gone.

My moms will either be drowned or healthy when I get back.

My clones, that's my worst-case saviour. There's not a chance in hell I'll lose those unless my house burns down :)

ps. I really need to get on this seed thing. I really don't want to lose these strains.
pss. I'm very fucking stoned. That's unusual.

Well, I'm finally home.

Looks like two of my best moms did not fair well, one is dead for sure, the other I'll be lucky if I bring her back. The other two are a bit dry, but I can bring them back.

My two youngest batches of flowering plants appear almost perfect, and my oldest batch of flowering plants look a bit dry and have a severe N deficiency, but the sugar leaves and buds look great. Thankfully, they get harvested in five days anyways.

My apartment was pretty hot while I was gone (89*), so I think that compounded issues. Many of my clones are rooting, but slower than normal, I think because of the excessive heat.

All-in-all, 11 days away and I kept a few crops growing with some automation.

Tomorrow night after lights on, I'll be able to better assess the situation.

Worst case scenario, I get put back by one planting phase (3 weeks).

Glad it wasn't a total loss.
Me too. You have no idea.

All I can think of now is how to do better next time. a) turn the damned heat down, b) drip system for my largest mothers

Other than that, I can't see any other way I went wrong to be honest (maybe a bit more water for the larger flowering plants).

Thanks,

Speaking of stoned............. I don't know if this helps you, but I can take cuttings and put them in my aerocloner and leave them completely unattended for 4-6 weeks. Then have well rooted clones ready to transplant.

Great! Please tell me what EC/ppm levels you start with? I've just bought an xstream propogator and considering I'm already in NFT I'm making a real mess of it!! I even turned the pump off yesterday. Time for the bin!
