Going On Long Trip. How Will I Water?!

HOMG,
I was just watching BDW's prohibition episodes again, watching him haul water. Suddenly it struck me that I have no watering system! I am going away for a while, no one that I would trust to water my plants knows about them, and there's no way I can afford a timed/tubed/auto setup right now. I'm not telling anyone about my plants. My parents know, but they're turning a blind eye to it in return for bud. Any asking for help could put them on the offensive, where they tell me to get rid of it all together.

I have a soil set-up. Most of my girls are in Folger's Coffee tins, which hold a little less then a gallon of dirt. They're all (7, that's five flowering and two sprouts) under one CFL 6400K sunlight bulb, 12/12 schedule.

I'll be gone a little over two weeks, what can I do?

Augh! My Heart! *Keels over*

I trust many people, I tell no one about my plants. I know it sounds paranoid, but I'd just really rather not have to worry what someone might let slip while they're drunk, or trying to impress a hot chick. (Both seem to have the same loose-tongue effect).

Two weeks is too long to rely on any sytem....

You mentioned not being able to afford a timed setup, so
unless you want to lose your girls, you gotta learn to trust
someone.

Not everyone is out to get you. GL.

Perhaps I can use a garden hose?
If I attach it to my sink and lead it out my door, into the grow room, and place it atop a foil distributor/trough thing, maybe that could work?

If I turn the sink on to a drip, theoretically the water would slowly gather in the foil trough and drip into the molded canals onto the soil. Giving them just enough water to survive till I get home...

Any thoughts?

you could try the drip system like your diagram, but with a very large container of some sort instead of a hose, that way you wont have to worry about flooding. i've never tried it. just an idea.

to be honest, though i really wouldn't trust leaving my plants for 2 weeks unattended, that's just asking for trouble.

i used those normal house spounges but for that long i would use the kind they have for cars, and just cut it up in little pieces and then mix it with your soil. do a heavy water then leave it and see. not sure when your leaving but do a test run and see if it will last while your still home incase you need to jump in and save the day

I want to help you, but my brain hurts at the moment. So, just a simple bit of advice,

-define your problem-

-don't muddle through-

you need to water your plants while your away, this is not detailed enough. Sit down and clearly define your problem. For example, how often do your plants need to be watered? The answer to that question alone helps define your problem better. Now it might be something like, I need to water my plants while I am away at least seven times.

--if that made no sense, it's because its late and I'm a dumb ass

^^thats worthy of a sig

It did, but the fact is that two weeks, regardless an automated
system or not, is too long to rely on without some checking up
on it.

You WILL come back to dead plants if you don't get some one
to check on them...GL.

Ack! You're killing me.
My official plan now is to get a cheap watering system, one meant for house plants, and put it on a slow drip. I'll lift the light a foot or so to give room for growth.
Hopefully nothing will go terribly wrong. The worst I see happening is the dirt becoming overly moist...
