Going to Amsterdam today 1st time ever!!!

Where in Germany are you planning to stay? And Barney's cafe is one place where I've never been, sorry.
About the hitch-hiking part...let's just say I was extremely lucky, OK? I got there just within ten hours or so, in three different cars, the last one was bringing me exactly into Downtown Amsterdam (or so it seemed...). All I brought with me were just 60 Euros and some easily digestable junk food. Since I got no previous experience when it comes to long-distance hitch-hiking, I wonder how long it's gonna take me next time.
Do I have any stories to tell? I was getting lost, had to look for my hostel for about two hours after leaving the coffee shop, then met a young couple from England who were stoned out of their gourds as well, we had the MOST amazing conversation while I was following them for no apparent reason. Then it turned out they were staying in the same place as I did, mental jizz was oozing out of my ears when I contemplated the odds for that to happen! And that was just the first night!
