Poor genetics. Today's pollen chuckers are just making seeds as fast as they can. Many are not breeding out the undesirable traits. Actually they're not even breeding. Making seeds is easy but just making seeds is not really breeding. As for fem seeds, I have had a few fems herm in the past all from seeds I bought from supposedly quality breeders. I'm not going to mention names. I've been making my own fem seeds for years and have given tons of them away. Out of hundreds of plants grown from those seeds not one of them has hermied.

Shit genetics indeed. they were crosses I made lol.

I actually have strangely fond memories of hermies believe it or not. My first three years growing was outdoors and I crossed BCN criticals with some Laos Highland a mate got while backpacking. The Laos was a notorious herm monster due to the way the landrace in the area grew. Almost more hermies than males or females. My first ever decent harvest was the best of three highland crosses and it was a herm (lower branches all full of balls). The full blown landrace experience, sticks, stems and seeds, but was proud as shit I loved every second of it. As I'm no breeder I chucked pollen (just let a male rip lol) and have wildly unstable BCN/Laos crosses galore. At least 500 seeds I'd say. Out of seven last year, two ended up good. Had to tie them down along a 6ft fence. The rest were unstable as shit.

I'd love to be able to work it down to a decent strain if I had the resources and space. But for now I basically have to plant four to get one decent plant.

I'm with the early-harvest-better-than none folks. Smoke a little and if you don't like it, give it away to fam and friends. You can always start fresh once you get settled in your new place.

We used to do that back in the day to keep them from the "eye in the sky" before our state went full legal.
Worked great, as we never had our plants spotted, nor the Law stop bye and take our plants and lock us up.
