As things progress along I will try add to this journal. Please advise if you see any mistakes about to happen.
I am starting a worm farm compost 3 bin unit and wonder if only worm castings and "tea" would be enough without needing any extra nutrients.
This is my first grow in 5 or 6 years. I previously did as inexpensive as possible grows - 2 CFL grow cycles - then 2 50W UFO LED(x2) grows , all bag seed that all hermied - 4 diff grows . My space to grow was a large shelf in a big room..I left the one side open..smell was not a problem, this way I used an oscilatin fan from 6 ft away to keep the space cooled. seemd to work ok
I used the GLR - method..which I sometimes wonder if it may have contributed to the hermies ? but it was good, some was actually great, the best tasted like the old thrills gum we got here..soap - that one I "revegged" which worked.. it grew like a freak show..but was the same ganja in the end.
the 3rd grow cycle I made my DIY ground wire - shaved off the blades of a 3 prong plug but left the ground plug, soldered wires to the ground wire, soldered solid copper wire core to the ends of those wires...stick solid copper wire in dirt
This time is in a semi heated garage that stays above 55F through the winter.
I will probably park the car outside to keep the garage from getting blasted by the cold.
I invested in a bunch of stuff, here's most of it
- 2'x2'x4' 600D High Reflective Mylar Waterproof Oxford Cloth Sold by: Bloom Grow
- Spider Farmer SF-1000 LED Grow Light
- VIVOSUN 4" 190 CFM Inline Fan -with Speed Controller,+ 4" Carbon Filter
- >18ft black ducting
- dryer vent louvers
- 8 Feet of Ducting for passive intake
- Premier MYKE 9 Quart Veg/Herb
- Advanced Nutrients Bloom, Micro & Grow
- VIVOSUN pH Meter
- VIVOSUN TDS & EC Meter
- Soil Tester 3-in-1 Plant Moisture Meter Light and PH Tester
- 2x Honeywell Portable Folding Fan USB or battery
- Fabric Pots
- VIVOSUN LED "sunglasses"
I am sure it's been done before but I couldn't find an example of this intake. I wanted something firm enough to cinch the tent opening to.
The red canister is a small Folger's coffee can, it is just a hair under 4 inch and fits nice and perfect inside the 4 inch dryer duct hose. I cut the bottom of the canister with some effort using a knife to start a hole, and just a decent scissor to cut...leaving the lid in case I ever want to cap the intake. nylon stocking and some fine screen to filter dust and keep crawling things out too.
1 gold rush fem by CANUK seeds - off True North Seed Bank
She will live in a fabric 5 gallon pot. soil is triple mix -peat moss,humus,compost- with more SIFTED peat moss and play sand added and Premier MYKE added.
--DIY ground wires(3) in the soil . one tiny wire to the SOLO cup
I tested it for pH wet with one of those 3in1 pH, light, and moisture probe testers , it was under 7 by a fraction ,and it drains well...
Water pH was tested for the area at 6.61 - 6.7 recently, has spiked to just over 7 according to records, but is normally just under 7.
and they use chlorine.... it will evaporate out
